my cel is on and i dotn know why
okay my service light is on...and i didnt know why ...and the thing is is that is i reset my ecu...it stays off for about 4-5 days around there... then it turns back on .... my car isnt running rich or idling improperly or sounds likes its having problems... any ideas of why its turnin on?... my guess bad o2 sensor?? and does anyone here know how to pull cel codes??
I had the same problem about a week after i installed my header. I had my mechanic pull the codes, he said it was the second o2 sensor and that i was running lean
im not sure how lean i could be running with no forced induction, but the day after he reset my ecu it lit back up. i figure it's not a huge deal and i'll just let it stay lit.

With cali spec, the 2nd O2 sensor detects lean condition, because a lot more exhaust gas is passing throught the cat than the original factory performance perimeter.
If it's lean, you'll burn up your plugs and warp internal stuff in the motor (just being lazy typing all the parts out).

LoL i went to auto zone and they checked it.....the guy has like the most confusing on him... he kept checkin and rechecking.....then he came out and said hey theres nothing wrong.... see light is off..... i was like yeah u reset the ecu? ..he was yup...nothings wrong.... and i told him that it turns back on later and that i've reset it like 3 or 4 times already.... and he took out this scanner again and starting tapping it and checkin if everything was working....then went back to my car and recheked it....and said..... " **** .... stupid odbII... sorry i dont know whats wrong...i gotta help soemoen else now " and walked away .....
You might want to try another autozone when your light comes back on, and hopefully get someone who knows how to work the tool used to get the cel code. Sounds like the guy that helped you didn't know what he was doing. Hope everything works out.
do you have Kamikaze header?
about 2 weeks after installing mine I got the SES light but after talking to some people on this forum all you need is a mil eliminator and it is not a big problem.
at least thats the info I got.

Do you turn the gas cap at least 3 clicks when you put it on? When i first got my car, it did that at about 3000 miles. Service manager told me to make sure i tightened it down, and after another 350 miles it went off. Something to do with the fact that the car thinks it's got a fuel leak somewhere.
you need to take it to the point that it clicks, then make sure it clicks 3 times. Read the gas cap or the owners manual, says it right there, as the service manager was quick to point out to me
I recently put my kamikaze header on and rmr test pipe and muffler on. My Service engine soon light is on. I know everyone here knows about getting the mil eliminator. But has anyone themselves ordered one, put it on themselves and had it work for them? If so could you get me to the right site to order the proper one. Thanks.
