Mitsubishi Shop Manuals
Mitsubishi Shop Manuals
I want to buy the Mitsubishi Shop Manuals for the Lancer so I can use them when I do minor maintenance and other stuff like that. I called two different dealers, neither was able to tell me how many manuals there are or the part #'s. Maybe I was just having a bad day dealing with parts people....
For anyone out there that has bought the Mitsu (mfg) manual(s)...
1) How many volumes are there?
2) What are the part #'s?
3) What was the cost?
4) Did you have to buy through dlr parts dept or is there a 800# to call?
Toyota runs a separate publications dept that you buy the shop manuals from - I was hoping Mitsubishi did the same.
Thanks

Today's update
Don't even bother calling Mitsubishi's 800 / customer relations number. After going through (3) key prompts to get to the "vehicle information" selection, the rep told me that they had no idea and go through the dealer since "they're just the finance unit"
Pretty useless to have prompts describing the availability of all kind of "non finance" information items then simply stating you can't deliver the info anyway.
I've just put an inquiry into my dealer (Boch) to see what their parts guy can drum up. I will post any descriptive info and part #'s once they return my call.
Cheers...

I'd asked Link about the same thing months ago. He refused, citing his reasons. I respect his choice. Please people, I don't want to see the next 14 posts begging link for this stuff, it's annoying and disrespectful.
Although I would also love to have a copy of these discs, I'm not going to pester the guy for them. I hope nobody else does, either.

I called my dealer, Northwest Mitsubishi, about two months ago to see how much a paper copy of the service manual would be. He didn't give me a part number but he did say that it was $150.00.
I didn't buy one, but I might if there's a big project that would be impossible/ dangerous without it.

i dont care what anyone says, thats some bull**** if you have some info thats of value to others and you dont share. especially if you got it for free. not that im pointing fingers at anyone, im just speaking in general.
wait about 2 or 3 more years on the lancer . . . price can range from 150-240 bucks per volume. At most is 3 volumes.
the funny thing: Mitsu has a shop manual for the mirage on just the 97, 98, 99, and 00-02. Within a few more years, Mitsu will combine them all.
It should be book format, not CD. The CD is probably for parts (for the parts department guide) . . . forgot what it's called. That is why it probably don't show much.

If it's in PDF . . . good chance it's for the parts department. Shop manuals are thick books, bigger than college Biology books.
A dealer mechanic needs a hardcopy to look, not scrolling through windows and menu. More practical.
Also, Links, why did you volunteer the info? you're going to get flacked like this.
In consideration of where this thread is going, I think a moderator should close it since I think we're getting into the theory of diminishing returns. I'll be happy to post part #'s and costs once I find out from the dealer.
Thanks to all who posted info trying to help me out
