Did they put in the alignment rack to find out if anything was bent ? or just assuming those parts are bent.
I'd ask them to put in ther alignment rack and see what is damaged before they pull it apart.

i don't know how they determined the damage thus-far, but you can be sure i'm getting a second opinion before i have any work done. i'll ask about the alignment rack, thanks for the tip.
