Need your input on this

Just saw DC sports has a new exhuaust for the OZ lancer. Only thing is, this is going to be more expensive than the Greddy. It's looking a lot like $600 for the system.

Is there any serious interest in this product? Let me know.

I am also trying to track down a more cost effecient exhaust. I just got some new literature on it and it looks nice. It will sell for around $400 or so.

Guess I'm doing my research here on what you guys are willing to pay.

One last item I'm in the prototype stages with is new mud gurard. I think a nice sturdy set would be a nice thing to have. Any interest in this?

Any comments are welcome.

I think someone brought up this exhaust already.. People in this forum most likely might not go for that brand.. Coz as everyone knows, DC sports is mainly for Hondas/Acuras... Tho there were alot of Honda tuners in this forum.. Tho switched to Mitsubishi now.. So yea.. But me, i would still go Greddy over a DC exhaust...

So your saying people wont go for it because they tune Hondas??? Thats a bit odd, because if its a good company, who cares where their roots are? Personally, Id love to try the DC setup, but I dont have 600 bucks to throw down on an exhaust. Id say the best and most cost effective setup will be rolled into one whenever Maganflow releases their catback for the regular Lancers. (Read: I do not mean a add on section for the RRM axle back, the two have nothing to do with each other, RRM just uses Magnaflow mufflers for their stuff. The reason I add this is because of the countless threads where people have equated a Maganflow catback to being an RRM product or being a completion piece to the RRM axle-back.)

the most cost effective will probably still be, buy the magnaflow muffler and other parts online, then get a shop to make the rest of the piping.. since greddy and the such go for like 400+ and people always talking about custom setups costing under 400 easily

if the mud guards aren't made of a flexy rubber .. and they fit to the wheel well of an OZ snugly, I'd take a pair.

$30 for some pipe,
$50 for a muffler
$520 for dc sports name on your muffler

paying $600 for some piping and muffler to have everyone laugh at you, priceless =)

but seriously though
damn $600 for some bent pipe, forget that

spend your money on something more benificial like pistons, or a header. my $0.02 though

I got a JDM look-a-like 4" canister, 22" magnaflow glass pack, 2.75" straight through piping for a little under $300. Numerous times has it been mistaken for a greddy because of the sound and looks. The performance it more than what i expected from a "non engineered, no name brand"...i'd say it would supercede the performance of greddy or dc. so they can get their $600 peice of shiet and shove it right back up their asses!!!!

I like the do it yourself way too. As for those that dissed the DC exhuaust as being for Hondas, don't forget that Greddy got started on Hondas as well. Don't blame a company for making products for the largest market. That is only good business. It appears DC is trying to expand the market by making exhuasts for Lancers and Neons, and other makes. Additionally, I really hat the term "rice." I mean, you drive a Mitsubishi for pete sake! But more than that it offends me as my wife is Chinese. It is such a offensive term. Please think before you speak, especially on this kind of forum, I know a great many of the members are Asian, and probably don't like it either.

Just a little conctructive criticisim. Keep the ideas coming.

I think one idea i will be working on soon is getting a set of reasonably priced slotted rotors. If all goes well I can probably have a set for no more than $150 a set. Beats the $180 I've seen everywhere else. I'll keep you informed as the test goes on.

If there are any other products outside of body kits you'd like let me know. Once I get more time I will put together the suggestions and see which ones are cost feesable. You help me, I'll help you. Thanks

eh ye... good call tswift, yall shouldn't hate on DC sports, they're not rice juss becuz they make stuff for hondas. Their stuff is actually really high quality and scores decent power gains for hondas and acuras from my own personal experience. I'm really glad they've decided to expand their horizons and start making stuff for other imports.

Point taken on the termenology.

The DC Sport setup I had on my Honda included a stainless steel header and a stainless steel catback. Everything cost around $900. Both items put on the car individually might have been a good idea, but combining them was the wrong move. I had no backpressure, which robbed me of what little low end torque the car had to begin with. Plus the exhaust sounded like crap and was around the 96db range because it was a straight through muffler. The 'stainless steel' DC Sports uses, rusts at every flange, and the header discolored in a matter of weeks. From my experience, when quality vs. price comes into play, I would steer far away from DC Sports. Hopefully Apexi will get into the mix and make a World Sport catback, because I would buy it in a heartbeat.

Mud guards sound more enticing to me than the exhaust. (I already have a complete exhaust, so I'm trying to speak objectively.) Unless the exhaust is nigh capable of miracles, it's awfully expensive for a bolt-on.

I agree!
Why so much talk about rice, because it's made by DC? I think you really over using this term! Buying a DC exhaust or any exhaust for that matter to "be louder" or installing dual exhaust on a 4 cyl so you can have two big polished mufflers.....that's RICE

Rember this: Function = NO rice, NO function = RICE
