This said, it is not a snow tire, but it will give you traction that is as good as any all season tire that isn't as performance built. In fact it is for sure better than the cheap Yoko's they put on the stock lancer. I love Yokohama but those were not very good tires.

I get lots of questions on this, so I just wanted let you all know. Additionally the FZ4 is all season as well and is also M+S rated.
Just wondering - what exactly is the difference between the two tires?

The Proxes 4 is the newest tire from Toyo. It uses all the latest tire building technology. It is really a tire that fits the tuner market as it is made especially for these appliations. The sidewalls are stiffer to carry the heavier load that is required by plus sizing a tire. The tread is redesinged to give more traction and run more quiet.

Like any company they are always testing and redesigning to make tires better. This is Toyo's first new tire in a few years.

Hope that helps.

Since the site's down, one quick question -

Are the new Proxes 4 (205/50-15) $75, or did I read that wrong?

205/40-17 is $85. The price increase day is coming on Nov 1. Probably 3% across the board. That is about a $7 increase per tire. Order now to lock in the lower prices.

So what is load rating on this size? I'll be amazed if it is same as stock, and you are pushing it mounting a 205 on stock rims.

IF you are driving an EVO you won't use a 205. You will run what the size is. 235/45-17 is on the VIII so that is what you'll run. The only guys that run the 205 are those that are "Plus-Sizing" going from a 185/65-14 to a 205/40-17.

Hope this clears up any confusion you might have had.

Still can't get on the site. You seem to have missed my question, so I'll try again.

Cool. I may contact you this week to beat the rate hike. I see the phone # you posted above. Are you 9-5 M-F?

Just ordered from Frisby. Things went very well. Very easy to deal with and very cool to talk to. It wasn't impersonal at all. We discussed what I was buying and chatted about our cars. I felt very comfortable giving him quite a bit of money. Thanks again tswift! Have fun at SEMA!
