Anyone driven a Jag XJR??
Anyone driven a Jag XJR??
Im really curious if anyone has driven a JAG XJR V8 supercharged with 370hp that runs mid 13s stock. Either raced or driven one? I have driven both EVO and the XJR, I drove them in two completely different times so I cant remember exactly how they compare in performance. I know that they are two completely different cars, I just want to know how they would compare performance wise.
Its noice but I can't get over the fact of a Ford F150 HVAC and window buttons, god damnit FORD!!!
XJR can launch quite easilly wothout drama and has the same supercharger as the SVT Lightning, so upgrades are that easy as well. From a roll this car SHOULD run away from an Evo. Could take one outa the hole too.

I have actually driven a XJR, we used to own one. It's a very fast car, but it's very large. It got to 60mph from a stop in about 5.2 - 5.4 seconds (using a crappy electric in-car speed measuring device). I think Jaguar claimed a lower 0-60 of 5.1seconds though.
The only problem, I've never driven, or even riden in, an Evo. I can tell you the XJR is very very very fast. The cars I came up against in the XJR (and beat) were Lexus GS400, Lexus LS400, BMW 540i Auto, E55 AMG (the 2000 model), Grand Prix GTP, Auto C4 corvette, Mustang GT, Honda S2000, and probably 2 dozen other cars I can't think of at the moment.

P.S. The new Jag XJR has 390hp. There's also an S-Type R, which is the S-class Jag w/ the 390hp V8... even faster.

I've driven it. The evo would take it in first gear, but after that its all jag. The jag will spin the rear tires with the traction control turned off. Its hard to feel when the tranny shifts on the jag, just constant acceleration. My buddys best time in his is 13.4 at 111mph stock.
The XKR is the one to have (two door, a lot lighter)

I used to hate Benz's, now i love 'em
Bimmer's have been awesome in the last couple years as well
Im just saying, te Jag needs something new to compete w/ luxury these days
agree?

The owner of Easy Street Motorsports (Subaru tuner) ran 12.9 in his XJR. Not sure what his mods were.
BTW, I love the new all aluminum XJ series. They are much lighter than the German competitors and drive much better than the old ones.
