Do you even know what a SCION is ????

A SCION is a rebadged toyota..... hmmmmmmm..... I would take a toyota over a BISHI if reliability was my main concern

Also 160hp isnt bad for a $17k car, and it comes with stock with all poower oiptions, glass roof, and looks decent

Anyone in Colorado or on the west coast ever drive both? (Impreza, Ralliart... meh, even SCion?)

Colorado seems to be known for it's "cold" mountainous weather, which is what it's like where I live.

I live in Colorado at the moment, and I lived in Calgary, Canada before for 12 years. I would personally pick the 2.5RS because of the All-weather performance. Even though the ralliart is probably faster in a striaght line, it wont match the impreza's ability to stomp all over it in the rain and snow. I get the biggest grin on my face whenever theres a large snowfall, and I immideatley run out to my car and fire it up. My 2.5RS usually understeers in the dry since its (almost) bone stock, but when the snow comes, i can mash the gas going into the corner, get the tail out with ease if i want to, and slide all the way through the corner with all 4 wheels blazing, using the steering wheel to take the perfect line i want. Its like the car completely transforms into a totally different machine when slippery conditions are added. Especially with the new Nokian WR's I got (the Bridgestone RE92's are poo in my opinion). I love it!

If i lived in a place like california i might consider the ralliart, becuase you can't appreciate the bonus of the subaru's AWD system in a place like that.

I have to say RS, hands down. My friend's car blew me away. The Ralliart is nice, but Subaru has the AWD and the power is pretty close in stock trim. I think my next car will either be an RS or a WRX.

Actually, from testing the Subaru Forester (EJ25, automatic) and the LAncer Ralliart Sportback (4G69, automatic), I liked the Ralliart MUCH better.

I liked how you could eat up any curves with the AWD of the Forester and how you could easily dig yourself out of dirt with it too. Lancer Ralliart was more "fun" to drive (it was WAY more peppy, and accelerated faster). It was always eager to move and took corners hard, albeit with some body lean (But not a lot. not like my boat-car)

Then again, this was the automatic trannies of both. I still have to see how the Subaru's manual tranny compares b/c apparently it's a lot better.

It seems that a lot of people who are pointing at the RS as being better are doing it because they're comparing it to a base/OZ lancer, and not the RA.

I went through all this when I was buying a car. The Suby is more pratical if you have the need for AWD. However, the Ralliart has no problem out-performing it otherwise. Slap some good winter tires on the Ralliart (like I did) and it should do fine in the snow. Since I'm in the city, most of my driving is on cleared roads, so AWD wasn't a necessity.

Unless you need AWD, get the ralliart!

I really did like the personality of the Ralliart a lot. Not sure how the 2.5RS is, but I'm sure AWD handling is awesome.

Where I live, we get a lot of rain. In fact, we get more rain than sun or snow combined! But I guess rain handling really comes down to tires, eh? (although I'm sure AWD would really help).

2.5RS....it is exactly what you think it is and looks a heck of a lot better than the ungainly lancers.

The Ralliart seems to really be a poser. 0-60 in over 8 seconds, crappy handling, and drum brakes in the back.....and its supposed to be the wrx's "competition".

Uhhh... the Ralliart has a 0-60 of 7.5 seconds, has handling that is very good (when you don't consider crappy tires), and it has 4-wheel disk brakes with ABS and EBD.

You must be thinking OZ?

Wow, somebody needs to do some homework. The RA is 4 wheel disc, 0-60 in mid-7's (high 6's with minimal mods), great handling, and it is in no way intended to compete with the WRX.
