Is the EVO the new King?
Gotta go with the Supra. Definitely a world-beater, it provides exoticar performance with luxury car grace.
And why shouldn't an American Skyline have a V-8? I say tweak the Q45's 4.5-liter to 450 hp, drop it into the G35's engine bay, plant it on some sticky 18/19- inchers, and give it all-wheel drive. Now that's my dream ride! There are reasons why Ferrari and BMW (although there is talk of a turbo 3 series) don't use forced induction.

With Nissan, in the US, it has always been the Z at the top. Always has, never changed. If and when the GT-R shows up, it will almost certainly be in the $45k-ish price range, and will probably be badged an Infiniti.
Its like when GM had the Grand National, and then the Syclone/Typhoon a few years later. They were great machines, but they broke the one cardinal rule at GM. You never trump the king, which is the Vette. Both of those cars were cheaper than a Vette at the time, and were faster to boot. That doesn't sit well with the higher-ups at GM. Thats why they were such limited production cars. I can't see Nissan being any different. You don't work sooo hard to bring the Z back out as your flagship car, just to have another "new" model show up and be better. Just won't happen.

Nissan has already said it will carry the nissan badge to hold on to the "GTR roots". Also, nissan has realeased the FUGA 350GT (infiniti m45 in USDM) in japan and it will hit our shores i believe early next year (gotta check my info). That will be infiniti (nissan) flagship car with N/A 350hp. Also, nissan will be releasing (hopefully) the new s16 under the nissan name, there is already a 'nissan release' concept that around the web that 'speed magazine' has shown. The new s16 and GTR will hit shores in o6-o7 and it will retain the nissan name, bet that.

If you're talking about exotics, why aren't you throwing in zonda's, mcClaren, Enzo, and Lambo. You think that the 911 tops all that?

Uh no, a stock R34 comes NOWHERE near a 911 Turbo. The Skyline GTR and the 911 Turbo DO NOT have similar performance stats. You ever hear of a stock Skyline GTR running an 11 second 1/4 mile or 0-60 in under 4 seconds? Didn't think so.
Nobody cares about cost when you're buying a fast car anyways, and no one keeps a Skyline or a Porsche stock for that matter, and the flat 6 has the upper hand in modification than the RB26 does.
As far as the Nurburgring is concerned, the Skyline neeeded to be heavily modified to break the 8 minute mark. It ran something like 7:30, very impressive, a bit faster than a stock Porsche GT2. Then, Gemballa took a modified 911 turbo, and ran a 6:30 lap time. See what happens when a Porsche is modified?
Let me put it in short: A Skyline is NOTHING until it is modified. It's like a chick who could be hot after some surgery. A 911 Turbo is a Playboy centerfold out of the box.
A 911 Turbo is HARDLY an exotic, btw.

It's the best ALL AROUND performance car on the planet
AZN boy, since you'd like to bring up cost, I'll take a stab at that. For $90K, you can have your super poopra, but in my case, for $9K I can have a sportbike that'll make your girlfriend's panties wet.

Lets just say the Evo is king of the streets in the U.S. But we all know that in Japan, Europe, everyone bows down to the king, the skyline.
I bet if we all could go out and buy a skyline for everyday use in the U.S. the skyline would be king.
But since the skyline isnt being sold in mass numbers in the U.S., the closest thing would be an evo.
This is just my opinion

The Supra did/does it all. It's not simply a drag-racer, it is one of the best handling, best balanced GTs ever manufactured, period.
