Needs wheels since steelies are stock and needs audio. Drives great and fun. Tons of cargo space, headroom and perfect for my dog. He loves it. Fold the back seats against the side and it's like a minivan with the seats out. Rubber floor for ease of cleaning, stainproof seats, sky roof that comes out, full-time 4wd, suicide doors open fully for full space, seats fold down to a bed in the back, privacy curtains for the rear window is optional so is a tent.
Looks like ***, but serves its purpose well. Nothing on the market quite like it. Even the Scion which looks better but way way smaller in and out.
BTW, the plastic panels are easy to replace if damaged and cost about $60 each. Perfect for shopping cart incidents.
If you ever drove a VW microbus, it gives you that feeling. Short front end, tall, good view of the road and tons of space inside. Feels light as hell and has good power considering it's a 4 banger VTEC from the Civic Si.
Will trade it some day if VW puts out a new version of the micro which I heard is in the works.

Has one scuff on the tailgate plastic and they will replace it.
Tires still have the nipples on them, so the extra miles will be soon forgotten.
Going to add an aftermarket grill from Grille Tech, side step rail, rear roof lip, wheels, springs, DVD headunit, exhaust tip finisher, dash trim kit. Will look 10x better once that is done then maybe have the plastic panels painted to match the body color.
One think I notice dealers doing nowadays in they have a second sticker next to the factory one. The dealer adds things like mats, CD changer, mud flaps, door moulding, chrome wheels, roof racks, etc. They substancially mark these items up so if the car is say 19,000, the second sticker may have 1500 in extras and bring the grand total to 20500 say as an example.
The dealers will not remove these items and sell the car as is. And the clincher is say they have 10 vehicles, each one may have a differnt combo of goodies so you are forced to take them. It's total BS. you as a customer should be allowed to choose these items AFTER you purchase the car.
Example of price mark up.
Tint $395 (nowhere over $75)
stop guard $295 (changes the 3rd brake light to a blinking one) ($5 part)
Mud guards $295 (retail for $60)
Etc.
Total rip off and marked up like crazy.
Fortunately mine did not have anything except tint and a few other things that I had not paid extra for. They threw it in on the price.
Personally, I find it to be a very unattractive automobile. But, it is your duckets, and your right to spend your hard earned cash the way that you see fit.
Xb is a 'slight' improvement, but not my cup of tea. My wife wants me to buy here an Xb. She can get a job and buy one her self.
Good luck. It is alway fun to get a new car.

Thanks. I know a lot of people hate the looks and so far everyone i showed it to changed their opinion once they saw it up close and inside and realized the features and uses outweight the looks. After all, it's a piece of machinery or an appliance. It does its job well.
I feel like I can be free with this and not worry about getting it dirty, scratched, vandalized, reved on at every light (like my Evo). I'm just cruising along minding my own and know I did not pay out the *** like some people who drive H2s and such.

Good chit on the Element. What color did you get? My bro who lives in Laguna Beach has one, that car is so perfect for him out there. I drove that thing all over So-Cal and Nor-Cal when i was there, drove with my left foot in that upper dash cubby hole smoking cigs the whole time. SinCity your are going to love that thing.
I did see a black one with painted fenders when i was out there, looked really really nice, kinda like a mini G-wagen.
My bro is left handed and very absent minded, there is no other car for him, he's the dirrtiest kid i know. Enjoy it the car!

Coolest thing is I have a set of gunmetal RacingHart Evolution (no relation to the car) wheels (S7s) that I needed to sell from a previous car and they have been sitting here over a year. They are a perfect match in offset, bolt pattern and width. Just needs 235/50-18s.
I think they will look good against the blue and have a 8 spoke design. May head down to Discount Tire and have them mounted. Just need the rubber.
If you like the look of the Element, then go for it. I used to have one, very solid car with zero prolbems, very practical and very easy to keep the interior clean especially if you have pets, and will carry them around. The only thing you might get tire of is the suacidle doors as in order to open it you need to open the front doors first. I got the EX 4wd for 19400 when new so looks like you save a few bucks! Good luck with it. I got non since someone rear ended it and got total a month ago...
Yeah, the rear doors are a pain. I have to tell everyone you must close the rear suicide door first, then the front. Plus if a backseat passenger needs to get out, the front passenger must open his door and remove their seatbelt since the strap blocks the back door when in use. Since there is no B pillar, the belt is attached behind the rear door. But all in all, it's a perfect vehicle for my uses. Plus I love Honda quality and fit and finish even though they make modest cars.
