Supra or Lancer

I need a new car and was thinking about getting a supra, but then i saw a lancer and dunno which one i should get now. Both look fast as hell. Is a supra or lancer a "riceboy" car? With this being a lancer forum i'm willing to bet you guys will say a lancer is better than a supra but can anyone give a unbiased opinion? They aren't cheap and i'd rather get the best car...

well i hope you are talking about a evo lancer and not the usdm lancer, but i'd pick the supra over the usdm lancer, but on the other hand i'd pick a lancer evolution over a supra . . . only because i like 4 door cars and it is fast and handles very well . . .

If you mean Lancer as in non-turbo/AWD then yes, it is pretty rice but they're great if done right. Supra (Mark IV of course) is very nice even if you can't get your hand on a TT model.

You're going to have to be more specific. There are a lot of Supras from the Celica Supra to the ridiculous TT beasts of the 90's. And people throw around the term "Lancer" so loosely it could mean anything from a Mirage to an Evolution VIII.

Since it's in US Lancer I'm assuming you mean a 120hp FWD econobox. I'm happy with my car, most would probably pick the Supra, but I'm voting for practicality and cheaper tuning over a potentially very expensive and very fast beast. Call me a pragmatist... (Just don't do it often.)

As for the "riceboy" image...well...personally I'd say it all depends upon the driver, the mods and the attitude, but people will see things as they see them. I don't see why you'd be concerned with what other people think though since you're the only one who has to drive the car.

THE LANCER IS A NICE CAR . COULDN'T ASK FOR MORE . EXCEPT FOR POWER. OTHER THAN THAT IT'S EXCELLENT. DON'T TAKE CRITICS ADVICE. IT'S BETTER TO LISTEN TO THE ONES DRIVING IT.

I'd take a Celica-Supra over a TT Supra. (Assuming equal money to spend and I HAD to buy a Supra) I dunno why, but I love those things. So rarely tuned too. Not nearly as much of a beast though.

Supra TT all night long.
Been my dream car since I got my license back in '96. Imagine if that dream had come true.

lol id pick the supra just because they are sweet

mods are exspensive

not all us lancers are slow

as for "riceboy"

shy away from LED's , neons, to much vinal, huge aluminum spoilers that are 10 feet high, electric turbos, pep boys, and last but not least . . . .all hondas

If you got the money to buy a mid 90's TT Supra I'd imagine you got the money to buy an evo. But if you are dabating over the 120 hp USDM Lancer and a TT Supra the answer is clear..Supra. I like my Lancer and I can't wait to drive down to Road Race and let Rock turbocharge it but like Hobie said, the Supra is a beast.

forget the supra and the lancer, get a suzuki aerio!
but seriously, if you mean the USDM lancer it will be cheaper to tune and mod... but will never have the potential of the supra. One plus for the lance though (at least I think so) is 4-doors... 2 door cars are so inconvenient.
