NSX: 1:33.35
Evo: 1:34.10

I know I can break 1:30 in both if I tried more than 5 laps in each, but I'd rather wait for the real thing in a few months..

Anyone know of any driving classes/schools/instructionals going on around march/april in CA somewhere? I wanna sign up now

That's BS!!!!!!! LOL. GT3 loves the NSX for some reason. That and the Skyline. Seems like there are about 3-5 race models for each. I would think that an experienced NSX driver could probably pilot that thing to outhandle an Evo. The Evo has much more margin for error though with that AWD. I think with 2 relatively novice drivers (non GT3 experienced ) the edge would go to the Evo. It would be a fun race to watch though. At like $80k+ the NSX owner has nothing to gain and everything to lose though, you know?

Since I own both an NSX and a EVO I can say they are about the same. It will come down to the driver and how far he pushes the envelope in each car.

I hope to get a chance to switch cars with him on the track and do a back to back comparison (maybe even get some in-car video). Its pretty weird driving the NSX. It engages (clutch/tranny wise) just like a manual Accord, but sounds waaaay better and keeps going all the way to redline. Its a whole lot of fun. But taking a freeway onramp at 105 on my first Evo test drive sure was addicting (cant let a saleen mustang beat me right?)...

I mean, on the strip... not an onramp... um..

since when does video games not count for some type of real life experience?? where do you think we get good Air Force pilots from? thats years of simulation experience!

baseline NSX won't beat a 05 GSR... however, a Type R or S Zero will beat a MR... i base this on the substantial increase in car per dollar.... there is a reason why the NSX Type R costs so much ( and not just because it's an exotic )

Well fortunatly he only has the base NSX. The dealership had one last 2004 on the lot and was putting in their order for 2005's the next day. So they offered him it at 75k out the door with only 12 miles on the odometer. Killer deal.

If your evo's lowered about an inch or 2 more, then I have the money on you..., then again, you could really suck at driving....

Really, it depends on the corner too. The lag could kill the evo if it doesn't match the course, but NSX Vtec engine's top out at 8000 rpm and that could help out... then again their powerband is worst then 2500 rpm lag...

I think it'll be very interesting.

correct... ultimately, you'll win.. BUT! never underestimate the power of the NSX.. even the base line models are ment to go around the track.. i would say to try to keep the inside corners and block him on straights, cause thats where the NSX will pull you..

not just driver... course also... a higher speed course might favor the nsx.

I drove both cars and the EVO probably turns better lap time because it's easier to drive at higher limit.

Streets of Willow is best for a high hp with top end power and has minimal cornering.

You'll probably get him with late braking and exiting a corner but he'll get you on the straightaways.

Here's a GT4 screenshot. I'd say you got him no problemo. Plus a whole bunch of other cars too.

If neither of you have much track experience, then the braver driver will be faster. But the braver driver might also total his new, non-safety equipped car. Both cars are way too fast for me to take to their limits at the track. Be careful out there!
