350z or Evo VIII
Why does everybody talk about the EVO's cheap interior ? as if the F40 is nicer from the inside
the same goes for the 993 GT2 - GT-R32/33
Honestly if you're going to buy a car just to concentrate on the cars interior (cruise control etc...) then don't bother with the EVO, just go with an Audi TT it gives you the 350Z shape and the EVO's AWD + Turbo
2 words if you're buying an EVO

I'm not biased since I owned both cars and I have to say that if you looking towards the Z, I would suggest that you look at the S2000 instead. The driving experience in the s2000 is far more rewarding than the Z plus the fact that you get you get a real mechanical LSD in the S2000 instead of a vicous unit in the Z. I'm not talking about what is faster off the line and quater mile times here, I'm talking about the driving experience and style. The s2000 is pure intensity.

yeah, I really like S2000's as well but they're so tiny I couldn't even test drive it. In addition they are significantly more expensive.

I'm 6' 2'' by the way and I found it to be very comfortable. It may look and seem like it is too tight, but I can assure that it is comfortable in the long haul.

I'm 6'7" so I physically couldn't even sit all the way down in it. The lack of a tilt steering wheel meant my legs couldn't get in there no matter what. I found it to be an even tighter fit than a Miata which I didn't think was possible. If I fit in an S2k I'd probably be driving one though. As for price, you might be able to pick up an S2k for around $30 however that is lower than any I've ever seen....and even at that price you're still a few grand above the Z starting price of $26k.

That V6 is a real piece of junk... oh wait it won engine of the year like two years running. The price is a failure too... oops you can get one for like 27K. Well it handles like crap... well i guess if nearly a g of lateral acceleration is pretty lame. Go kill yourself, Supras are overpriced and so will the next one be.As for the EVO,it owns everything on the road handling wise and has excellent power delivery from a very small displacement! My question is if EVOs are cheaper to insure than Zs? All in all i think the two cars are completely different animals and i'd love to have them both in my garage
I debated between both cars until I drove them both. Then to me, it was obvious.
If anything I would debate... S2000 versus Evolution VIII. Because those two are a blast in completely different ways.
As for insurance, around here in MA (2nd highest rates in the country), the Z was a bit less than the MR. And the MR was less than the S2000 (which was penalized for having a ragtop).

I would venture to say that the MR is a much better daily driver then the Z. No complaints on the suspension being to harsh here. The 6 speed keeps it in the power better then the 5spd so lag is hardly noticable if you're driving hard. And all the 05 Evos are more responsive to begin with. What makes a good daily driver anyways? Leather and shiny guages or AWD, interior space, and 4 doors?
Not all the Zs are so cheap either. The Track package w/ brembos is over 34k and still doesn't perform as well as any Evo. Go buy a Z if you want to do burnouts and pick up chicks (350Zs have ungodly sex appeal in black), for uncompromised performance and drivability go with the Evo.
There are lots of Zs around here so I can still look at them, sitting behind the wheel of the Evo is so much more fullfilling though.
To me the Z is a bit dissapointing, with the 6cyl it would have been nice to have a top end monster like the Supra. Maybe when they're older and cheaper and no longer have warranties I'd be willing to slap a twin turbo kit on there

If you're in to modifying your cars then the Evo is the better choice. If you live in a colder climate and see lots of snow or rain then the Evo would be the better choice if it's your daily driver. If you hate having to slide your seat forward to let people in and out of the back seat then the Evo is the better car for you. If you have children in the future or want lower insurance rates (how much depends on your insurer) the Evo is the better choice. I'm really not sure where the 350Z has the Evo beat? Looks are subjective. I've never really liked the roof line of the 350Z but I've seen some really clean looking 350Z's with aftermarket rims. Personally I think the Evo is the better car. You get what you pay for. That's why it costs more.
