That said if this is your daily ride, forget it. The Evo is dead reliable in comparison and infinitely more practical. I've seen lots of kids get 3rd Gen's because they are beautiful cars and can be had pretty cheap only to find out that a properly biult motor and a new set of twins or single will run @ $8,000.
Get the 7 for a second car...the Evo if it's your solo ride.

I had an 86, and i loved that car. it ate a whole bunch of oil, but i didnt drive it for more than a year, and had not one problem. the thing was a blast to drive/drift, and it wasnt too bad in daily driving. i had a blast, and would probably own one again, but with family it just makes it way unpractical. i havent seen a third gen on the road for a few years, and they are going up in value it seems. good luck

The style and beauty are still remarkable, even parked next to cars 10+ years newer in design. The rotary can be tempermental, but care must be taken in tweaking, tuning and driving. BUT, Im 6'7", and I cannot fit in one, it is RWD so its awful in the snow and has zero space for anything. The evo is much more practical and a better means of everyday driver. Not without its shortcomings, but hey.....
Rx7 are great cars, in fact I was considering to get one but wasn't exactly what i was looking for. U said price is not an issue so i guess the next question is what do u want to do to ur car? As for the engine being rebult i would not really worry about that as long as it looks as if the pervious owned didn't drive the $hit out of the car. Bottom line if u want a show car, someting that is easily upgradable then i say go with the Evo, but if u want to save some cash and have an older yet great car then go with the Rx7. Either way they both great cars, just one will cost u alot of more money as well as cost more for insurance, depending on where u live.

Since you do not own an Evo, the question is not directed at you and therefore your response is not needed nor wanted.
