What Car in year 2001-2005 for Turbo/Upgrade potential?

I'm looking for any Car or SUV that have great turbo potential and work your way up with cheap prices on upgrades. I see honda with really cheap and alot of selections when it comes to upgrades. I'd like the Mazda Protege5, is that a great car to work your way up on? It kinda puts me down that my Lancer OZ only has limited choices when it comes to upgrades and upgrade potential. IF you have a second choice to buy a car, what would you buy besides the OZ and upgrade it? I'm looking for cars in year 2001-2005...New or used.

If you want cheap, stick with a Civic.

yah but does a civic have a potential for turbo? I don't think the engine is built for turbo, unless you upgrade the internals, and I'm sure that's going to cost you. Am I right on this one?

Hmm I think maybe the same price as the civics. I really like the mazda protege5 it looks sweet, I'm not sure about its overall rating though.

2003 mazdaspeed protege. hard to find, but cheap (less than 15000) and already turbo'ed (with plenty of room for upgrades) nice rims, nice spoiler, nice interior, nice steering wheel, great suspension.

Get something already turboed. Something with an iron block, closed deck, low compression.

Evo, Cobra, ??

I would end up having to sell my car if I buy an Evo. Plus I don't want to buy it yet since I don't have a garage. The evo is not worth sitting in the elements.
