Better daily driver M3 or S4?
Thinking about getting a M3 or S4 (2000-2003ish). Which of them do you feel is better for daily use. I don't plan on modding it, just pure stock commuting driving.

only thing that is holding me back about the s4 is that I hear they are real pieces of **** in the long run. Anyone have any insight?
Dont really care about AWD I have the evo for the snow.

Late model year Audis haven't had the dismal longevity of the older Audis. That being said, I don't know that it as sturdy and reliable as a BMW. M3 would be a lot more gratifying to drive although 2 doors are never as convenient unless you rarely have passengers in the back seat.

M3 all the way S4 is for the poor j/k
For pure luxo racecar feel go for the M3 I have one and its a blast. M3 is a great high reving (8K) street racecar, test drive one and you will know what I am talking about. (M3 is perfect the way it is no mods nessasary.) its pl;enty fast as is.

I'm not looking for an evo replacement, just something comperable. Problem with my evo is its such a "raw" car. Commuting 60+ miles a day in the evo is tiresome to me
I have driven nothing but Audi's my whole life not counting the evo. I guess I just was wanting to hear our communities thoughts on it.
I prefer the M3, but I dunno if I can pick one up in the price range i am looking for (under 28k)

My old boss at the Toyota dealership went from a Supra Turbo to a E46 M3 and he hated it because of how horrible it felt on a day-to-day basis. That being my only experience with either car, I'd say take an S4.
But also, I agree with BlackLab on all accounts. Either way it should be a blast.

Any BMW that's not AWD will totally suck in the snow. Trust me my mom has one and it's no fun to get caught out in a snow storm with one of those. S4's are awesome cars. But if you already have the evo for the snow I would definitly say go for the M3. They are incredible cars. Only go for the S4 if you need more room in the car or if you can't stand the hard ride.
