in need of new project car

Alright I am selling my gst and looking for a new project car. I don't want another dsm and am looking to do some autox and road racing. Preferably something turbo but who knows. My current thoughts are 240 or mr2, any ideas on what to get? Also I don't wanna spend more than about 7k on the car so I have some money to mod with at first.

I know you dont want another dsm, but this would be a good auto x car. https://webspace.utexas.edu/steedtr...0sale/index.htm

Alot of people in my area have sr20'd 240s and love them. Thats the way I would go if I was going to pick from the two you listed. Goodluck.

No thanks on the mazda speed, I am tired of just spinning my front wheels and not going anywhere. That link isn't working for me . I am not set on either of those but they can both come with turbos. Anyone know much about the old 2.5rs'?

I say the 240 and keep the KA. the MR2 will be the sweetest for the autox but a 240 has such power potential and if you decide to get into drifting...you already have the drivetrain for it. (MR2 does but mid engine + turbo = snap oversteer)

if you want a fairly straightforward car to work on, 240. if you want a bit more road course potential, the MR2 will be better.

I love my SR S13, but it's not king of the road course. I personally would do an S14 with an SR in it if I were to do it again. The S14 is a much more refined chassis over the S13. Saddle bag gas tank, stiffer chassis, better ergonomics, and only a hundred or so pounds heavier than a similarily equipped S13.
