VW R32 Coming Stateside!!
The Price
Actually MSRP will probably be $29,999. When you take into account that the current VR6 GTI costs 23K-24K, there's no way the R32 will not come just under 30K. I got in it at the LA Autoshow and I got to tell you, it's more luxurious looking than most BMWs. Plus the 3.2 liter motor, AWD, 6 speed tranny (which I am sure is upgraded from what's available on the current GTI), leather Konig seats, 13" brakes, and the 18" wheels will only drive the price higher. Add the markup and you are looking at low to mid 30s. But if you love hot hatches and got some extra cash, you can put a single or twin turbo in the R32 and basically have a car that can stomp a stock 911 Turbo for about 40K, while looking and feeling luxurious.

If I could have afforded it, I would have had a VR6 GTI over the Lancer, no doubt. I mean, at least they have a REAL Sport package... see big *** wheels, tighter suspension... not just 15" rims and simulated brush aluminum trim.
Truth be told, though, I would make a hell of a getaway driver. Screw look out.

I have read about this before....though i must have missed it at the LA auto show, goddamit......oh well, this car has RECARO seats not konigs like someone else said....and if it comes with the navigation system, i am definately going to buy it, because the EVO VIII is not very pretty and the R32 is..
VW's make most cars we drive today! i cant stress the fact that VW makes just about every european car company and even some japanese and american car companies.
Dont hate VW, they are the creators of the W12, the audi supercar RS6, and If im not mistaken, i think VW even owns BMW now also.

I assume you are kidding about VW owning BMW?? Because they don't, and never did in the past. VW owns Audi, Skoda, Seat, Lamborghini, Bugatti and Bentley. They used to own Rolls Royce for the last few years, but RR is supposed to go to BMW this year.
As for the seats, go to

Scroll down to the part where they talk about the seats. They mention how the seats were made for VW by KONIG.
I love VWs. In fact my VR6 GTI is my third VW. But they are front wheel drive and I am done with that. I know in Europe you get most of the VWs with AWD. Obviously we get the AWD Passat and soon the R32 and Phaeton. But I am not going to wait for the R32, and will probably pass on the EVO even though I am in a waiting list. I think the best bang + value for my buck right now is the Infiniti G35 Coupe with the 6-speed. But I am keeping my mind open to other alternatives until I sell my car and am ready to go to a dealer to buy my new car (which hopefully will be in the next month or so). We'll see how it turns out.

Hmm, how many riced out integras do I see every day? On average, I'd say realistically about 3 or 4. How many riced out VW's do you see? I think I've seen maybe 3 in the past 4 years. Don't get me wrong, I like integras, but I wouldnt drive one. IMO VW's look more stylish and classy, and the interiors are amazing.
On another note, I was talking to my friend about the R32 the other day, and wouldnt it make more sense to buy a regular VR6 GTI? The regular GTI VR6 has 200hp and runs ~$24,000. I'd rather put $5,000 into a VR6 than spend $29,999 on the R32, just for the bigger engine and AWD and pretty stuff.
