Oh yeah. Throw a supercharger on the VW. Then when the dealer laughs at you when you bring it in for repairs, you can threaten to sue him because you're going to spend $350 an hour on an attorney. Go check Impreza I Club. Those "Visnu" performance packages are creating a lot of problems. LOL.

Maybe you should look at what site you're at... this isn't exactly a site that celebrates "warranty worry." Fact is, you want to get the most out of a VW, you supercharge the VR6.

That was what we were talking about. So, I didn't really think that "taking it back to the dealer" really had anything to do with it. Plus, if you're inferring that SC isn't safe, fact is that it's more reliable than turboing, which is what alot of members have done here.

Mmm...R34. Old news but glad to hear it's coming here. I guess that petition I filled out at the Dub Vortex worked!

Beautiful car, but grossly overweight. From what I hear, 4motion sucks too. For $30k the car is out of its league.

Way I see it is that it's gonna start out that high, but, it'll drop, probably. I see it as another Import performance competitor.

This car has no comparision to EVO or STi. It's AWD is based on Haldex (like Audi TT) which means FWD car with a set of clutches to send torque to rear wheels when front slips. Haldex sucks cause when it's engaged it's not smooth and can make a car tricky in turns. Audi TT's stability problems were caused by Haldex system. So if somebody wants EVO this car is not a good replacement.

I dont consider it in the same league either, and I really wouldnt care if it didnt have AWD or whatever you wanna call it. I want that engine, and they can drop the AWD for a front LSD, lower the price a bit and I'm sold!

If you care only about straight line racing GTi VR6 is close. In turns a regular GTi is way better balanced.

That wasn't my point. I'm not saying it's an EVO or STi.

Fact is, for a long time now, it seems it wasn't a sportscar unless it was a Ford, GM product, Dodge, BMW or Porche. There really haven't been any "eastern" competitors (other than the DSMs, really) since the early 90s. That being said, I'm saying it's one more thing to put in the same CATEGORY (if not quality) of Import Performance. This, Evos, STis, 300Zs, G35s and such, are breathing more competition that is causing the rise of newer, better (than previous domestis) cars from the Domestics... the SRT-4s, SVT Foci, GTOs, Chargers... the list goes on. I'm just saying that it's good to see something that will lead to more performance competition.

to bring this back from the dead, being a vw person, i thought you might like to read this, a comparison of the r32, evo, and sti.

and the audi tt's lift off oversteer problems were fixed by a small rear spoiler and suspension adjustment
