I would just deal with your insurance company.

Why would a cop go to a call if they can't make money off it? Come on now, you know better. Unless there is someone "speeding", bleeding, or getting shot at, there is no reason for them to go. They don't get new squad cars by wasting time writing reports, they get them from traffic tickets.

The problem with the insurance company is the first thing they ask you is do you have the police report...

Dude I feel for you sucks to have your car ripped off and then the cops dont show up.

I dont know how things work in other states but when my civic was stolen in Queens (NYC) the cops would not let me go to the station to fill out a report they said the report must be taken at the seen of the crime.

I guess I was lucky it took them 4 hours to come and tell me they can't write the report because I dont have my regestration. I had to grab my new one at home and 5 hours later they took the report but at least it was only one day.

Good luck, Sorry for your loss

Sorry bout your loss. Been there done that. Unfortnately nine times out of ten you car was clipped by someone who knew of you. If you know anyone in your memory who is a thief start there. The police today do not move unless a serious problem is dropped on their laps. Stolen cars are not high priority, though should be. The average joe will keep paying higher insurance bills, while slim shady steals whatever is in his grasp. If you don't have a secure place to keep a nice ride, my suggestion is to get a hoopty. Thieves always come back for another sample of goods. A nice old school beatdown is definetly on the menu for these types. I'm a old school soldier myself.

That sucks man. When my car was stolen, the cops were there within 15 minutes of me calling. They found my car stripped to nothing a couple weeks later. Good luck.
