Mitsubishi denying recalls
Mitsubishi denying recalls
Check this out guys:

Hope that link works ok...if not, copy and paste it into your browser. This is a link to a 3000GT forum pertaining to transfer case recalls on the 3000GT VR4. Mitsubishi denied someone's recall claim because he raced his car. They apparently monitor boards (like this one) and researched the members to find out their names and what they've done with their Mitsubishi vehicles and then used that info to deny recall work and probably warranty claims too. Just thought everyone would like to know about this. We might have to be careful about what we say about what we do with our cars...unbelievable!

ya, some guy misshifted his S2000 and must have hit about 18000rpm (5th to 2nd instead of 5th to 4th).... anyway... he claimed he didn't know what happend.... so the honda mechanic printed off the thread where this guy posted his "story".
They decided to make him pay since he was posting it on the S2000 board that he misshifted...

Honda has done this with S2000 owners, as well. On the flipside, nearly every change done to the S2000 when it got a refresh in '02 was something frequently requested by people who posted on S2000 international (glass rear window, non-carpet center tunnel, better stereo, etc).
I suspect every car company has people who monitor car boards looking for both the good and bad. Be mindful of what you post, and you should be ok. Or, if you're going to race a car which was not meant for racing, accept that you're going to have to eat the costs.

I thought people would be interested since the Evo is on its way and this kind of crap that Mitsubishi is doing will be affecting the future Evo owners who post in this forum. I think its outrageous what Mitsubishi is doing and since we know they watch this board among other I thought people would want to know how it could affect their new Evo. Sheesh!

This gives me one more reason to get a subaru.
is only killing their own reputation. We are car enthusicts here. Screwing one of us means we are going to spread the word to our gear-head friends and so forth. One man on the forum can inform over thousands in one week. Not to mention how big nasioc.com has become. 40K?
Perhaps
like to save pennies and lose hundreds, if ya know what i mean. I doesn't matter if people agree with mitusbishi action or not. My main point is that it brings a horrible image and customer satisfication is #2 right next to performance in my book.
We are one big family on the forum. I'm surpised that person has not spread the work to all the big forums? That's what i would do.

They are probably
to see
hurt their own image. If they just fix "refund $" for the poor guy case no one will probably hear about the recall. Now ppl are making a big fuss which promotes bad plubicity towards
Subaru will probably not make the same mistake. Speaking about subaru they actually emailed everyone to ask if people like the gold or silver wheel better? That's giving the public what they want.
reputation will go down with actions like these. I would like to know who are the bright minds making these decisions?

Its a different issue with lockup due to defect and dumping the car at 6k rpm's with an upgraded clutch and VF30 turbos. Their 5-speed trans do suck though. But finding ppl on the forums is only asking for trouble.

product - and the company is now out $30k to 150k or more of future sales. I know a couple die-hard Honda buyers who will never buy another Honda again because of the way they were treated over a relatively small TSB/recall repair. I'm amazed that car companies haven't figured out what nearly everyone else has - a happy customer is a (more) loyal customer.

Issues that these beside greedy low class dealership probably drive most customers away from Mitsubishi. I just hope the
people are taking notes
I feel they need to hire people with some bussness sence?
These last few posts are very one-sided and quite narrow in scope.
First of all, don't kid yourself: Subie, Toyota, Mazda, Nissan, etc. are all equally guilty of voiding warranties and refusing recall repairs for "racing", after-market mods, and the like.
Recalls are incredibly costly and the service the individual dealers provide is NOT under direct control of
. It reflects in the (not very reliable) J.D. Power ratings that
dealers are not very well liked for service, though they are improving.
It amazes me that so called EVO enthusiasts so easily turn to criticize the company that manufactures this amazing car.
