Run a carfax on it or ask the dealer for a carfax report.
I almost bought a type R for $15000 but the day I was suppose to get it I ran a carfax and it told me
1) Car was salvaged
2) Had 4 owners
3) Registration
4) Accident report
5) A lot more
Buy carfax and if you find something on the car that carfax did not state, carfax has that buy back gaurantee.
If i was in your situation, which I was before, I wouldnt buy the type R.
