acura type R

my friends lookn for a car no more than $15,000. He came across this car (click link) do you guys think its worth it? for this car, Im thinking the dealership would ask for a little bit more than 15g's.... so im wondering if somethings wrong- just want anyones opinions to see if its worth it or not. my friends really likes the car but hates the color... for 15 g's i told him to look into the honda civic si's... their not that bad so what u guys think?

i wouldnt touch it unless you are prepared for rebuild or other damage; color is the least of his problems

RARE TURBOCHARGED WITH NOS TYPE-R?????

Stay a mile away from this thing. It looks used and abused. I think I have actually seen it posted on here before. Bad news!

I'm a Honda fan, but the R is definetly going to be a nightmare, and the new Si = boring

The car looks good and just because it was turboed and had NOS doesn't mean it was abused. I would go get a test drive on the machine and take it to a mechanic to get check up if I were really interested. Despite what these guys are saying you can Turbo and add NOS to a NA car safely if it is cleverly tuned. Your friend might want to find out who tuned the car ....

I wouyld take the Type R but being as highly modded as it is, it'll be a hard sell. I would offer $10,000. I fteh engine blows you can rebuild it for less then $5,000. Also do a compression check.

$15,000? That strikes me as odd, considering unmolested Type Rs of that year/mileage routinely sell for more. I'd be pretty leary of that particular car, even if it was tuned "right".

"Don't buy a used car, buy an underpowered econobox!"

Thanks for making my day.
