Sway bar suggestions for '69 Camaro?
I have a '71 Z-28 that is fully restored with a few little modifications. The biggest is the suspension. I put on full Hotchkis springs and swaybars, and Koni adjustable shocks. Handles great, sets lower, not nearly as much body roll around corners.
As far as the statement about only wanting a rear bar if you have an independent suspension - that is not correct. Almost all cars with solid rear axles have a rear bar - camaros, mustangs, even trucks. When you go around a corner all the weight is transferred to the outside, the spring on that side compresses and the suspension squishes, while the opposite (inside) loses weight, the suspension extends, and you get body roll.
You will definitely want a rear bar! I ran it for a year without the rear just because I was too lazy to put it on. MUCH BETTER WITH THE BAR!
Please give a call to Hotchkis. They have awesome customer servie and I am sure they will really help you out and steer you in the right direction.
