all specs (estimated) ... you don't even know what they are going off of for the weight stats ... for all we know they are quoting the j-spec weight because maybe that weight is out...

something tells me that
Moderracer is wrong/and not 100% accurate (estimated of course)

A little heavier than the wrx?????

Remember the sti has.

1. R180 Diff and Axles over R160 on WRX
2. 6-speed tranny over 5-speed
3. LSD, DCCD adds weight.
4. Forged 17" with tire weight more than 16"
5. Larger intercooler and 2.5L!
6. Brakes weigh over small standred wrx's.
7. Added beams for ridigity.
8. Larger sway bars

It's only a spec c glass and wheels. We actually have a rear seat and A/C ya know.

108mph wow low to mid 12's, vettes do 108mph with 350hp! AWD have lower trap speed so i'm guessing 108 mph has 360hp or under 2900lbs for that estimation.

Actually according to Paul and the conversations he's had with STi, the US car is based off of the Spec C. Thus it very well could weigh less than the US WRX. More here: http://www.apexjapan.com/rumours/main.html

Moving thread to you know where...

Yeah Paul, we all know how bias he is Like i said before we have A/C and rear seats. You can only compare Wt difference in JDM or Wt difference in U.S. models because in asia they are in dry weight or some funky scale.

The JDM WRX weighs 1340kg
The JDM 2L STi weighs 1450KG

Difference in wt between sti and wrx is 110KG for the two cars right?
1kg=2.20462262185
110KG=242.508LBS

US WRX weights
3085 lbs

I feel Adding the wt difference between JDM STI and JDM WRX to the U.S. WRX is Fair???

3085lbs + 242.046lbs = 3327.5lbs

So it's 3327.5lbs minimum not to mention the 2.5L.

Fair and realistic?

When they take out the rear seats and A/C maybe then it's a spec C. A/c weights alot people.

Also want to know the Equivalent evo 8 weight 2900 lbs in japan. Add 180lb bumpers=3080 right? Wrong! I can only compare jdm cars with jdm car and the Weight difference is more accurate because they are running the same wt scales to measures japanese motocycles (always reads lighter) Rs JDM probalby has no A/C either but they have ACD, LSD. If i put JDM bumper i should be super light

I think the Spec C wheels are lighter then the stock wrx 16s, and it doesn't come with stereo but it does have a rear seat and A/C too

With tires my friend

Wheels probably within 1 lbs different but with tires 16" are lighter. 205's vs 225.

They will have too keep the STI under 3300 lbs because of gas guzzler taxes and fuel economy.

The word of mouth is under 3200 lbs to acheive the goals for fuel
economy!! that would be sweet, will see soon enough. later

Must be with the city driving.

That bad hung. It probably has horrible hwy too due to the aerodynamics. To bad subaru didnt' design their front end in a wind tunnel That extra 500cc doesn't help either but can you imagin with gass guzzler. No one would afford it after tacking that on.

A euro spec the Evo VII RS-II is lighter than the UK spec STi. Traditionally the STi had been lighter.
