As much as I hate to say it, I told myself that would happen to that car after seeing how they were driving it at IRP. They were going down the front stretch at almost 140 mph, TAPPING the brakes in the braking zone and hitting turn 1 at probibly 110+ mph, where everyone else was doing a good 2-3 seconds of braking.

The guys on NASIOC were bragging about how that car is proof that STI's are SO much better than Evos on a road course. In reality that car is so much slower than our Evo if both cars were pushed to the same limits.

I do hope the guys can put that car back together and at least get thru the rest of the race and salvage as much as they can. It was quite cool to see a car in the Mid-priced sedan class hold a 3rd place overall, in the midst of tube frame high HP and 6 figure supercars.

 

Anyone have after pics of the Black STI or the Blue one that wrecked at IRP????

 

I had the same thing happen to me. It sux. But I didn't hit anything. Just a wicked slide after catching air.
