My Daily Driver - $3200.00 whadya think?
In an effort to keep daily work commute miles off the Evo, I set out on a task to find or build a reliable, decent looking, Air Conditioned daily driver. I decided to go with a truck as they can be useful in other situations too. Besides the conditions above I didn't want to spend anymore than $2500.00 total. It wasn't really a money thing but I just didn't want to dump too much money into this project, considering $2500.00 gets me alot more HP in the Evo!
Well after a 4 week search and a couple of close buys I found what I was looking for. A 1992 Isuzu Pickup with about 100k miles. It was in awesome shape both inside an out, had low miles and the AC worked great. After wheeling and dealing I was out the door, tax and all for about $1500.00. To make a long story short I have been adding stuff here and there to make the truck a little nicer. The truck is a base model, so to spruce up the exterior I added chrome front and rear bumpers. Also added chrome mirrors, new chrome trim tailights and front corner lights and a chrome tailgate handle. I also swapped the old headlights for some newer looking ones with changleable bulbs. I also added fog lights and clear parking lamps and repainted the front valance black. I also got a sliding rear window dirt cheap from Ebay. Then I lowered the truck with a 2/3 drop and found a great deal on a used set of 18" Enkei RT6 wheels and used Yokohama AVS 245/45/18 tires on Ebay.
On the performance side I have added a Calmini header and Calmini camshaft, Flowmaster muffler and cat-delete pipe, and a Weber Outlaw 38mm carb. These mods have really woken up the truck and increased MPG too! Inside I bought a cheap CD/MP3 from Walmart and added 4" Pioneer speakers and rear fill is taken care of by two small home theatre satellite speakers. I also installed a powered Bazooka 6.5 inch Bass Tube for a little bottom end. All in all I ended up breaking my budget (of course) but not by much. I was able to keep the total to about $3200 by smart shopping and getting the rims and tires used.
Here are some pics... What do you guys think? You may not be into mini-trucks but I think it looks damn good for $3200.00!

yeah I hear you on that, but I don't like ALL my eggs in one basket. The Evo will always be my first love and it will never be done...
