Maybe a bit less luxury, but the SRT-8 Charger sounds like a very viable alternative to the Cadillac CTS-V.

I just drove the charger yesterday.. with the hemi. My neighbor got one. He is kind of dissapointed with it, I don't know why he bought it lol.. I think he said he's only going to keep it for a year. But with my experience driving it, it was very heavy and sluggish off the line (my lancer feels quicker in 1st gear), but once you got going it was pretty quick. The steering was very sloppy and it squeeled around every turn like it wanted to flip over.. and the interior is cheaper rubbermaid than my lancer. I wasn't impressed one bit. Reminded me of driving the Hemi Magnum.. same exact thing, practically.

I'd take the SRT-8 over the Caddy. I've driven the CTS-V several times and really don't care for it.

What is the price going to be on the SRT-8? Anyone know? Im assuming it would be a bit cheaper than the cadillac. Do your basic intake/exhaust modifications, some wide *** tires and rubber and the SRT-8 would be one hell of a grocery getter!

I've driven the cadillac xlr, and I love that thing. I'd take it over the SRT-8. The interior of the caddy is 10x nicer than the dodge. It in no way even compares. Its like putting a neon up against a bentley. Its a pretty fast car and handles way better than the charger.

I saw a charger on the street the other day. In my opinion it just looks like a sedan version of the magnum.

ummmm, well yeah....the XLR is a $77k dollar friggin' car too....I'd hope it's a little more refined than the Charger that can be had for under $30k. The SRT version of the Charger is rumored to be somewhere around $40k.

i really like the charger looking at it by itself. i think a lot of people dont like it bc its not a true charger. but i think if it went by a different name, itd be halfdecent.

What do they mean, it's not a true charger? It's most like the original.

The new charger looks cool as hell....definately meaner than the new mustang.

I always liked the look of the new mustang in the pictures and it seemed to have promse but after they were released....i was just somewhat dissapointed. Something about the way they sit...with the wheels they chose...and then the crappy power........

overall...the new mustang is a big dissapointement

What exactly is the point of comparing a 4 door sedan with a 2 seater droptop that cost twice as much? Thats like saying I'd rather have a viper than an EVO.

Well.. the XLR is almost the same as the CTS.. except in a 2 seater. I heard people start comparing the CTS-V and all that, which are $50k+, so I thought I'd throw in the caddys. They have the nicest interior out of any American car I've seen.. and they handle much better than the charger/magnum. I've driven all of the cadillac's except the new V models. I like the sport mode button for the trans on the CTS's.. it keeps the RPM's at about 3500 and when you hit the gas, it flies.
I'd take a cadillac any day over a dodge.. there is no comparison IMO. I've driven the CTS, STS, XLR, magnum (hemi), charger (hemi).

Well, if you put the specs of the old one and the new one next to each other I'd think the new one is all over it like funk on pigs. Those old muscle cars with solid rear axles and little tires can't compare to how the new ones can put down the power plus they handle so much better with independent suspension. The old ones just can't compare.

I interior in the CTS-V is not near as nice as the SRT8 (300C) IMO. The CTS-V interior is aweful. The XLR is totally different then the CTS and is also much more $$$ than the cars being discusses in this thread. The XLR is also a boring car to drive and the XLR-V is going to be $90k. The SRT8 is a hell of a car for the money.
