the XLR uses a northstar engine as opposed to the CTS-V which uses a corvette motor. Not much alike between the two.

I know that I was just talking about the regular cts, sts, and xlr.. the quality of cadillac is 10x better than dodge.. so, nm. If it takes a forum of a thousand people to cricize each car for someone to decide what they want, something is wrong. =/

I can't afford either right now so it doesn't much matter, but for the money I'd probably lean towards the Charger SRT-8. Now if money was of no concern I'd definitely spring for the CTS-V just because I think its a classier looking car.

How much power can be easily freed up on the 5.7L and 6.1L Hemis?

I didn't much like the looks of the new Charger, even the R/T models...but I gotta say now that in SRT-8 form it's looks pretty damn sweet! That car is MADE for black paint LOL!

Chryco has said that in 2007 they're bring out a 2 door "Challenger" version (same platform/drivetrain) that is supposed to be somewhat smaller and lighter to compete directly with Ford's Mustang. I haven't seen any spy shots of the car yet though.
