Can you guy please participate on this website?

Hi,

I am a member of Evolutionm forum but I also read NASIOC forum everyday(I use to have a WRX)

Anyway, this guy is saying that he is pulling 1.2s and 1.3s 60' on his light moded STI,
there is no way that he can do that. Can you guy please give your opinions.
In case the link does not work , type: www.nasioc.com then go to power braggin rights. Please don't be offensiveor agressive on that forum, we want a friendly talk..

This is the link:

It's just a timing error. Most of us here in the DC area go to that same track, and no one, I mean NO ONE ever gets 1.2-1.3 60' in anything resembling a regular car. The guy's first run was legit and was actually pretty nice driving, although he wasn't getting much mph for his mods. The 2nd two are obviously wrong, and he just doesn't understand how the timing error is effecting his entire slip. HE actually doesn't understand how the faulty 60' is affecting his 1/4-mile time...he thinks his 12.3 is legit even if the 60' is wrong, but he's sadly mistaken. Luckily, EVERY other Subie owner there understands this and has tried to explain it to him.

For reference, my last time at Capitol:

Me - 12.64@106.0 w/1.71 60'
Him - 12.79@106.4 w/1.71 60'

He cut a good light, cut a good 60', and drove "OK," so his 12.79 looks legit. In the next 2, his 1/8th-mile and 1/4-mile mph were consistent with his first run and with what most people in the high 12s run, so it's obvious that the timing light started .5s late...probably had to do with the tree, which is set to .500.

the guy who posted it is getting reamed when he looks to have already agreed that it must be a timing error... I kind of feel bad for the guy being everyone is still going on and on about it....

Yeah, but it's because he still thinks the 1/4-mile time is legit even with the 60' error. He thinks that the 60' reading is off, but that the rest of the readings are correct, when in fact, the error carries through the entire timeslip. Notice how he says, "I was just happy to get at least a 12.6...," when he barely even got below 12.8 (12.79).

He will get burnt by an Evo sooner or later. Than his ego will hit the floor.

I see what you're saying... I didn't quite catch all that part as I didn't read the entire thread...

I have seen timing errors work both ways. I won by 3 cars but lost in reaction time and ET.
