Wow.. I dealt with Kingpinperformance before, it is a matter of fact I dealt with them last past September.
My own personal experience is that I called Mike(the owner) because I heard from a friend that he had a used tranny for sale, back in September 04 my WRX tranny breakdown.
Mike helped me a lot, he did the transition fast and he had the tranny as promised.
Not even 5 weeks later, I ended breaking down the tranny on my WRX again. I called Mike and he just had a customer with a 04 WRX that was doing a STI tranny conversion, so I drove to Phoenix and picked up the second tranny for my WRX, did I said second tranny in less than 5 weeks..
Anyway, based on my experience, not only Mike treated me well, but he was also good on the prices and definately serious when dealing with me. He had the tranny ready both times I went there.
More over, I also had my car tuned by one of his technician Clark(AZscoobie), this guys is as famous on the WRX/STI community as Al is for the Evo community. Again, no issues with him, he showed on time for my car tunning at Dyno-comp in Phoenix.
You always have to looks both sides of the history, some people talk smack, some people have bad luck, as far is other situation(my situation) he dealt with me well.
The one big complaint I have to say about Kingpin is that the shop looks like a Pig farm, that shop truly looks unpresentable, the officce looks like crap and the shop is a mess all over the place, greasy parts in the main office floor, fuids everywhere, etc.
I belive they moved to a different location.
That what my true .2cents

Didn't doublej work for you? I went through and read quite a bit about your Vendor Review and it's a shame for your business what happened. I don't know why you would offer a group buy if you didn't have the kit together and ready to ship. I don't think any vendor should be allowed to do this. It doesn't make anyone happy to save a few bucks and then to be told "we are waiting for it to clear customs" or "the supplier is out of stock."...
If you plan on getting new EVO business (not from wrx to evo owners) you need to do a 180. You admitted fault and that's something you haven't done till now so that's a step in the right direction. I might not know all the details, but from what I have read and I am sure more people are about to, you are going to lose more business before you get it back. I have always given Kingpin the benefit of doubt but after reading all the posts, I think I might have been wrong.
I know Kingpin and Greddy_Ready (who was banned from NASIOC) are about to go to court over the Greddy Car. I have been in contact with Kerry and I await the outcome paiently. It's a shame to see such a popular vendor take a dive in a community that had all the love for them.
As another vendor said "AMERICAN EXPRESS"!!! If a vendor doesn't take it, don't do business with them. The vendors know about AmExp and they hate the fact that AmExp is for the customer, not the merchant.
Kingpin, if you do read this lets not get into a pissing match. A member was pointing out something you did and just wanted the EVO community to know about it. I am glad housedj posted this because I haven't visited the NASIOC forum in quite a while. It's good for the EVO community to know this since you are trying to get EVO business. You have already took fault and for those that read the threads will see that. I would hate to see this thread locked because you don't agree what is being said about you on the NASIOC forum. It was "copy and paste" so there is no denying what we, the EVO community, read what we see on NASIOC.

HouseDJ you are funny.. Group buys are normally for out of stock, custom, or hard to get items. They knew there was a 6week wait going into it. It did run longer then expected however. Everyone has gotten parts or a refund, and everyone is taken care of now.
Saying we used the money for our race car is untrue, and considered as libel. I would not make public claims that are that outlandish. You seem to have an motive behind this.
I am not distputing that we had some unhappy people in that group buy, but only 2 of them dropped out. The rest were happy with what we offered them in order to correct the situation. It is hard to please everyone when you deal with hard to find JDM items, and custom fabricated turbo kits. These things take time, and there are snags along the way. We do our best to get things done in a timely manner but sometimes, we overshoot our deadlines.
It is really difficult working under a microscope. Why not tell me where you work so i can follow you around, and post your every mistake on the internet..LOL
Point is, we are entering the New Year and improving on what needs improvement. We are most defiently not perfect, as no one is. We are also not to close minded to see what needs changing. We have a flawles vendor rating on evo m, and we will keep it that way.

so what about the people that ordered motors from you 12 weeks ago & still without their items? what about the people who got partial turbo kits? & if you're going to offer a group buy to customers on "hard 2 find JDM parts" why not use EMS so people don't have to wait weeks. what's "funny" is that i don't even own a shop but i can order something direct from overseas i can get it w/in 3-5 days. how do i do it? a working knowledge of worldwide business transacting is something u might want to invest in if u wish to attain success in this business...

People who had turbo kits have either been refunded if they chose to be, or are willing to wait a bit longer. And you say they dont have their parts? They have a good deal of parts, just waitng on intercooler pipes, and turbos IIRC..
Dave, I visited your old shop once with Travis and Marv. I was thinking the same thing as EVO9GRL but probably worse. Compared to DynoComp, I think you would understand my reasoning. After seeing the pics of the new shop, it seems you did the right thing. I can also understand the mess at the previous shop since you were getting "cut in half cars" from overseas.
As for what housedj said, I think the title reflects what was said in the NASIOC forums. Look at it from your customers point of view, how coincidental it was that the car was being completed during the group buy. I didn't see you write "libel" in the few comments made on NASIOC when members made comments similar to housedj.
I am a firm believer that group buys should not be allowed for parts that are not in stock. If a company doesn't have the capital to get the parts first, they shouldn't do it, PERIOD! I see a group buy for someone getting started in the .com business, not from an established one. That's my .02.
Dave, I am not here to defend anyone, but do you feel it is fair that EVO community saw what happened on the NASIOC forum? Is that something we are to expect from Kingpin if you decide to have a GT35 turbo group buy? Again, please try and see this from a customers point of veiw, not yours, and maybe you will understand the anomosity of what was written in your vendor review. Seeing the latter portion it, it appears you finally came though for everyone, but at what expense... I do wish you a propserous New Year and look forward to seeing what you are capable of in regards to the EVO community.
HAPPY NEW YEAR TO ALL!!!!!!!!!

We did not make statements about libel in the other forums because we made phone calls to those individuals, or sent pm's explaining the situation. We are past that point with HouseDj. The car is basially the same old car with a face lift, 95% of the parts that changed on the car were sponsored to us free of charge. The car sat in the seibon booth at sema, and everything C/f is from seibon.
Like i said we admit fault, but how do you expect us to better ourselves when we have to deal with this constantly. I am sure if i dug into each of your lives i could find some dirt you did when you were young, and post it on the internet, but how does that help? We are making the effort to fix things. We went from a small company to a large company in a very short amount of time, and it was rough for a little bit, but we have regrouped, and are ready to go.
As for the old shop, you have to start somewhere no? It is hard to compare a shop like dyno comp, to a shop in its infancy. We have moved on, and are in a space that suits us now. Come check it out for yourself anytime.
We are open to all suggestions on how to improve, but keep in mind someone who has the community in mind will give constructive critisism, not destructive. As the more Evo support we have local the better it is for the customers.

"...... The problem i have is HouseDj dragging us through the Mud.".......
Kinda like Matt aka "ghedo icy" from Nasioc would do everytime someone would post something about DynoComp in the southwest forrum, wouldn't you agree?
I hope that things go well for Kingpin in 2006. You have what seems to be a very large shop that blows the old shop out of the water. Hopefully when you have your BBQ this month, someone can get a lot of pics to post up. I hope the business took a lot of morphine for the growing pains it endured in 2005 and is now ready for a prosperous 2006.
I do trully wish the best for you guys. I read what you guys did for the Subaru community in the beginning and I would like to see that return as well as growth in the EVO community.
