It is a FWD understeering car until the computer determines that it is time for AWD.

thats its curb weight, ok how much does it weigh? ralliarts about about 3800 and evos are about 4200 i believe if im wrong someone correct me but i know were less than them. now a AWD system, not turbo charged and its V6, well thats a good match up against the eclispe. so ya evo guys have some cars to worry about, not unless ya above average than ya coo cause they have time before they get parts anyway. but its pretty much a madza 3 but more beefed up.

Evos, depending on the model, are between 3197 and 3321 pounds.

I think it's gonna be an awesome car but like someone already said, this car in no way is being positioned to be competition for the EVO.....it's targeted directly at the Subaru Legacy GT-R and G35 Sedans and that new Acura sedan......basically targeting the big AWD sedan market.....not the pure performance market of EVO's and STI's.

don't get overall weight and curb weight twisted aight, thats not how much evos weigh, it might not be a sports car but ya know someone is going to turn it into one. than another than another, than theres a whole bunch of people with regular sedans that want performance parts. just like the ralliarts, were not a sports car, just a regular sedan (wishing they were awd) and were getting parts for us.

I don't think anyone is getting the weight confused besides you. The curb weight on the 6 is 300-400lbs more than the curb weight on the Evo. That makes a big difference...

Car and Driver has a picture of a Mazda 3 with a 270 horsepower engine and awd. Weird lookng box on the hood and is suppose to be out by 2007. Much lighter than the 6.

Yeah, it looks like that new 3 is going to be more targeted at the EVO than the speed 6.

The Mazd6 is no where near like any Ford, if you don't believe me just drive one and when you're done come back to me and see what you say. I know it doesn't have the handling like our Evos, its no where near as responsive either, but its decently better than a ford of the same class. Once again, the Mazdaspeed6 is not in the same class as our Evo or the STi, its more along the lines of, the new Legacy 2.5GT or the JDM B4 version, the 3 series, Is350s and stuff like that... Its designed with comfort and elegance much higher on the list than just pure performance.

Evolution 8 w/o sunroof curb weight: 3263
Lancer Ralliart : 2843
OZ Rally : 2700
MazdaSpeed6 : 3589

The MazdaSpeed6 weighs 746 pounds more than your Ralliart and 326 more than an Evolution.

Mazda might be able to compete in the WRX marketplace with a MazdaSpeed3 if it's designed properly, otherwise the MX-5 is a good car if you can fit into it (I can't).

I mean, if you want something a little more comfortable and designed for boulevard cruising, then get one. Definitely not an evo, but it might steal a handful of sales from mitsu.

Ok... I just got news from my our general manager, the dealership that I work at has ordered 6 of them and they are suppose to be heading over to the states as we speak. The wait for them to actually start selling the cars is because Mazda decided to tweak the cars slightly... and that's an update for you guys...

Looks like a nice car. Can't hold wind to an Evo though.
