Why does the Spec C. version (which is more developed) has the smaller spoiler?

kordwood, the spoilers i don't think look that bad but the evo soiler is completly functional. ask ppl who have gone wingless, what is different about there car at high speeds. even on daily driven evos with out the wing you can tell a diff.

so it doesn't slow your car down!

it probably has a smaller one b/c it doesn't move all around! lol like some one said earlier the bottom part of the sti spoiler is the only thing that helps the stis

The spoiler does increase drag, which is what Kordwood meant. Below 100 there is no real difference. If you're driving your Evo on the highway, however, you might want to remove the wing, as it could be costing your some gas.

man lots of haters, anyways the sti spoiler shouldnt move, my friend has an sti and its mounted fine. Just cause u saw one spoiler wobbling doesnt mean all the sti's do that, and im pretty sure their wings do just as much as ours, its not a wing thats just slapped on their.

Uhhh, I'm not sure if you know this turtlefag, but the hoodscoop and spoiler do wobble at high speed or under heavy acceleration. These guys aren't just making this up for fun.

see, idiots that say sh_t like this have obviously never been at the track before. spoilers over the rear are still useful in creating downforce even on a front wheel drive car. traction isn't just about putting weight on the wheels that are driving the car.

says the lancer. please refer to my last post. it is not useless, even on a rediculously slow front wheel drive car.

^--thank you for that.. and I don't know about the whole gas milage thing either. I just drove up north over 430 miles @ around 80mph the whole time with the A/C on and still got 37mpg. We are talking about aircraft speeds here in which it effects the car. Its not like we have a 60''x30'' board mounted to our front bumper blocking smooth air flow. The spoiler is only about 2cm thin, and aerodynamically tapered.

The Sti spoiler does flex a little, but not that much. Some of them may have gotten bad ones flexing like you say, but they do flex some at speed. The hood because of the scoop does have some flex at high speed and on rough roads. They both function perfectly as designed, but it could still benefit from a carbon fiber wing upper half. I have had mine at 153 mph constantly and it does not move as much as some like to exagerate. There are some bad ones out there like I said. My Evo 8 rear spoiler flexes too, you just can't notice it as easy because the wing itself is a lot thinner so the movements are less noticable looking at it while at high speed. It doesn't flex quite as much as the Sti wing though. Besides the Evo 8 spoiler is better anyway(less bulky) but I like both.

actually, he's right, and you're wrong. The sti spoiler wobbles. just go up to it when its stopped and see how much easier it flexes.

im not saying you're PMS-ing, im just saying that you're wrong. id agree with you, but, well, then we'd both be wrong.
