advice on cars around 30k

If you can afford it, the best just might be the Acura TL and if you like the coupe style, I would go with the Ininiti G35, or Nissan Z.
I would shy away from the entry level BMW 3 series b/c the lack serious power as well as the entry level Mercedes C class...
Evo is def not for you, you're right....we have near cheap interior, unless you have the leather, the it looks slightly less cheap...

Why are most of you suggesting a race car for him when he asked for a STEADY car. Get the G35 or an Audi S4 used. If you want to go lower, get a 3 series BMW. If you're worried about eating gas, get something in the lines of a 4 cyl or even 6 tops N/A.
I eat gas like nothing under full boost (8MPG). Don't they also sell some nice Mercedes for about 35k?
