OK it is my wifes car giving me grief A 1996 Grand Cherokee Limited Edition 2x4.The problem is everythin gshuts down at random times without notice i disconnect the battery wait an hour or so then electrical comes back turn it over and it wants to start but does not so i pump the gas pedal fires right up take my foot off and then dies.I have gone to 4 mechanics and of course i cannot replicate the problem as it does it when it wants to.I have trouble shot eerything even pull out the fuses and the ones under the hood.One trouble shoot was i got the car running switched on the a/c and then it died as if it did not catch the idle turn off the a/c car runs great,weird parts is when it does the whole problem everything shuts down i mean everything then disconnect the battery and do it all over.Any thoughts or ideas

 

Jeeps are Chryslers and they are NOTORIOUS for insance amounts of electrical problems from those years. My in-laws have one too and it's an incredible hunk of ****. For god sakes just sell it and cut your losses......then buy a Honda Pilot or something.

 

That how it always is.... you can never replicate your problem to the mechanic.
