hey guys.. i curently have a 2004 lancer es! auto trans. pretty much all looks.. with lil go..

anyways..im lookin at givign up the lancer to my mom and buy a 95 impreza..its 2.5 rs..non turbo but its awd.. best part is.. (stick shift..finally!!) its not liek ima sell the lancer..its just that my moms gona use it.. and i get to get the impreza..and mod it woithout worrying about waraties getting voided.. (planning turbo).. heres some pics of the car.. i looks pretty cool..its old but i can still ahve both worlds.. like go and show.. let me know wut yah think? more info an the impreza would be awesome... thnaks guys..im a newb when it comes to subarus..just coz ima lancer guy...

would it be alot faster than my auto lancer ES? im looking forward on goin all out on performance(F.I).. i wan deprive of performance on my auto es.. u think this is a good move? i still get to drive teh alcner anyways.. let me know... seems liek a fun lil clean car..

I like the Impreza also.... but I like the 22b even more

 

That's a nice car. I'm a big fan of the boxer engine, lots of torque+good horsepower. If your going to turbo, I would just drop either a wrx or sti engine in it. Anyways, nice car and good luck.

o by the way i saw u today in ur lancer, u were on dundee at around 5:00 or 5:30, i would have honked at u but i was in my moms benz(sl55), so u would of thought i was crazy or sumtin

 

by the way 4,000 for tthat 2.5 rs is pretty good, just i dont think it is worth investin the mod money in it

 

^^^lol awesome..u saw me today..hahha.. yeah.. uhm the impreza would be a snow car just coz its awd.. i would wana mod this to be fast.. coz i dotn ahev to dela with waiting till waranty expeires..and still keep the lancer stock.. engine wise.. besides im not gona make the suby crazy fast.. i just love teh sound of turbo which my lancer lacked..coz it was an auto... wish me luck guys..picking this car up this saturday..=)

 

im looking at getting a 2.5 rs when i finish recruiter school in october, and putting my evo up for just the weekends. good cars and they hold their value.

 

i love those cars. imo, you should swap the engine instead of boosting it....

FYI, there's no 95 2.5RS; but, it does look like someone upgraded a 95 impreza with 2.5RS stuff. That front end first appeared on the 99 model (which I had).

 

xtianLANCER04, i MIGHT be faster. It IS AWD so the weight and power to the wheels would lower is somewhat.

If the car did have an engine swap from a 2.0L to a 2.5L, i would look more into it. The guy might be trying to sell the car to get rid of the headaches.

 

yeah it was swapped... for a 98 RS engine.. ill look into it..and test drive it..

 

There were some problems with the 98 RS motor. It was the only one that was DOHC. For 99 and up they swapped to SOHC. Also, the 98 and 99 had a rather sensitive MAF sensor that really did not like aftermarket intakes and filters.

The latest issue of sport compact car has a good writeup on what to be careful of when buying one.

However, I loved my 99 RS with the STI suspension. That car was a blast to drive and I wish I kept it (in addition to getting the Evo). www.spdusa.com has a lot of good info on how to get the most out of these cars.

 

^^^ yeah the car has 2002 WRX suspension...yeah ima check on the car.. and see how it drives.. i heard aboyt the maf sensor problems.. but is having a dohc motor bad? i mean isnt it supposed to be a good thing? so u eman the recent sTI's have sohc? im confused..99+..
