I bet those would just flex all the way into the rim worse than current tires with the potholes we have here in MI.. lol. I come across some on a daily basis that are 6ft wide and 8-10in deep. They do construction year around, and I never see an improvement. Its like wtf?

+1 But I'm sure they'll make them look like normal tires.

Do they last longer or is it just so you dont have to worry about punctures?

The performance of them has been tested extensively by Michelin and they are far superior to pneumatic tires, especially in cornering. There is zero lateral deflection. That means the contact patch remains constant throughout the turn thus providing far more grip than currently possible with pneumatic tires.

Additionaly, having no air pressure is a huge advantage because air compresses. The inner structure can be altered for specific applications enabling consistent turning, lap after lap.

There is development work currently going on to attach a rubber 'sidewall' so that the Tweel looks more like a conventional tire.
