69 Pontiac Firebird Questions

Alright , I got a buddy who owns a 69 Pontiac Firebird and is determined to take me out. Currently the car is a POS With a Chevy 350 (stock) . He has just recently purchased (from what he tells me) a major suspension upgrade package from somewhere because a Magazine did a favorable review of the kit.

I drove it before and I drove it after the kit installed and while I felt the difference (for the better) I wasn't over the top with excitement, It was in my opinion a mild upgrade.

Now his latest magazine has come in and it details the new supercharging system that a manufacture has put out. He is determined that this will be the next milestone for his car.

My questions are:

Has anyone here ever supercharged a Chevy 350?
- Are there any cons in just bolting this kit on?
- Will he be limited to 6 PSI like Hondas because of the difference between N/A , and F/I?
- will a built De-stroked bottom end be needed?

Is there a Forum dedicated to the Chevy 350 and it's variants?

Does anyone have any ideas on the Power potential this 4400 lbs. beast will produce?

Thanks In Advance.

WOW, A supercharged 350? Probably the baddest setup on the planet. watch out

I have no idea which 350 he has, I'll assume it has 300/300

Supercharged add another 100 to 400, and they just move man.

That is an old car an blah blah blah but it realy has th potential to scream no matter how ugly or nasty they look and sound, if he can drive that worth a damn it could really cook, you have a serious weight advantage and traction advantage, you should be ok unless he has crazy power coming from some where.

If he's just buying stuff cause a magizine says its good, he probally doesn't have a clue what he's doing and won't see over 400 ponies, supercharger or not... Slapping a blower on any random 350 isn't too smart either. He's gonna blow the bottom end, It would be really funny to watch.

I'm thinking the same simply because he thought he would be able to slap it on as is and be able to make serious boost and power.

I told him I thought he would only be able t orun 6 psi and that he would prolly be in the area of 65-80whp . He laughed and told me it would be alot more than that. I am not extremely familiar with chevy 350's but going from N/A to F/I is terror on the bottom end. He doesn't seem to think any modifications will be needed.
