Thinking about trading Evo for Supra...what do you guys think?

i have a '03 evo with a good amount of mods. i have been trying to decide on a turbo kit for a long while now. my 1st choice was the 35r, this is where the problem lies. i live in an area that is 6000ft above sea level, so spool up would be horrible. the only other choice is the 3076r but it wont provide the results. i thought about how much money i will spend just to make it a mid to high elevens car on pump and alky and decided to look at other options where my money might be better spent, which is why i am thinking about selling the car for a supra.

i know the supra is over 7 years old (looking at '97 or '98) but the thing that makes up for it is the value, even pricing one out on bluebook.com provides awesome resale value. i have seen numerous low milege ones that are in excellent condition. the next thing is performance, where the 3L would be alot better up at my elevation. also, you could make alot more power on just pump and alky than the evo.

the main thing the evo has a advantage of is AWD, which is making my decision hard. is it worth keeping the evo since is has AWD? i would include handling but ive seen quite a few supras that handle very well once the suspension was upgraded, which i already have in my evo. my car is mostly a weekend car. im looking for help with choosing the better overall performing car after upgrades. i would appreciate helpful info and opinions and PLEASE do not let this turn into a bashing battle! i am looking for educated opinions.

Stick with the Evo and talk to a good tuner like AMS or Buschur about what kit would be the best for you. I would love to have your Evo with those mods. A 7 year old supra would definitely be a step down.

If you really want a kick in the pants and want to spend money, trade me your Evo for my 03 Mustang GT vert. You can get built internals and slap on a TT kit and make like 700 horses. Whattaya say?

Wow man, the Supra is a hard car to say no to... they're fast and smooth... and the Evo is a bit of a rough ride... but I still gotta say keep the Evo.

AWD is a hell of a thing.

Keep the Evo. I think you'll pay a premium for a Supra because it's almost a collector's car now that it has been out of production so long.

If resale value is on your mind the Evo is not a bad investment (relative to other cars): http://money.cnn.com/pf/features/pop...1.exclude.html

Don't get me wrong, I love my Evo, but if the opportunity came to me to get a 97/98 turbo supra, I would probably get it. The power potential of those cars is unreal.

Definitely the evo. Its hard to find a TT supra, plus youll be paying almost as much as your evo, and thats for a car thats nearly a decade old. Plus you know that when you buy a high performance car like that USED, it has more than likely been ragged out. Like buying a used rent-a-car.

I was messing around with a supra last week. The supra was faster than my evo and was pulling away from me. We hit a red light and all I can say was that he had no traction off the line.

Evo, 4doors, 3diamonds, 2liters, 1turbo...cant get any more simpler . BTW, the evo is a much more funner car to drive. Unless you plan on making 600+rwhp which WILL cost near 9-10grand in turbo/fuel support if you go single and/or make it on stock twins (~500rwhp and have the twins huffing and puffing) itll all end up being $$$. Either way modding cars is a money venture it just comes down to what your goals are.

this is what im concerned about. i know they are highway monsters, but how would they be off the line, i would probably run bfg drag radials all the time since its my weekend car.

im not worried about winter driving, i have a 4x4 truck for that..lol..

Ps. traction isnt a big issue, my buddy has a supra and even with azenis he has a problem barking his tires. BFG/Nitto D/R's and you WILL hook pretty damn good and depending on driver CAN out 60' an AWD car.
