First off can i say that you are CLUELESS. Comparing an SVT to a ZTS is just retarded. Thats like comparing a Lancer ES to an EVO or a v6 pusstang to an 03 Cobra. About the SVT being a POS, i think u should reconsider what a POS is by looking out in your driveway, LOL, c'mon an ES and your raggin on an SVT, You must just be mad cause u got spanked by one that was granny shiftin.LOL Have a nice day
The SVT/ST170 won't be here much longer but I wouldn't be suprised if an awd forced induction fed Focus is here in '05. Does anyone know how pounds converts to $? [/B][/QUOTE]
it is 1.5 times what ever the the pound is. like if it 30000 pounds then it will 45000 american dollars.

ok i was not comparing the zts and the svt. if you could read more down the thread i will have said this. i know that the zts is not a svt. the svt team took that platform and moded it. and when i was looking for a new car the svt came out like 2 months AFTER i bought my car or else i would have looked into it. so do more research before you start argueing with me. i CHOSE to go with the lancer es rather than a focus just like you chose to drive the svt focus. and yes the svt will beat the oz that is a no brainer. but the mitsu will last longer than your ford. so good luck with your engine after 80000 miles
I hope you're wrong. I have a 100,000 mile powertrain warranty.
please post something that will make me believe that my engine won't last. I could understand the engine not lasting if I had forced induction (SRT) but all I have is variable camshaft timing and an aggressive exhaust.

I seriously doubt the RS would cost $30,000 in the US.
As for the ZX3 vs Lancer...I never had a problem staying dead even with my friend's.
EDIT: Not to sound like a dick either, but I haven't had all the recalls my two friends with Focuses have had. I'm sure most everyone knows of the ridiculous amount of recalls on the '00 MY (one friend of mine has a '00) and my other friend with an '02 is on his third bubbled tire and going in for his 3rd malfunctioning O2 sensor as well.

Yes the focus has had a TON of recalls oh well just stupid stuff all cars have recalls. Yes maybe a lancer engine will last longer than a SVT engine BUT how do you know this for a fact????? And it all has to do with how the car has been driven, and how well maintenance has been kept up on it. So just a little thought. I heard! If and when the RS comes over here than it will sell for around $27k. But Ford is one to bring something up and never do it so I doubt it will ever make it over here. They have made quite a few cars over the years that were supposed to come out but never quite made it. But as for the lancer and a focus being even I suppose it has to do with what is done to the cars and who's driving them. So i honestly don't care I can admit my car is slow but can anyone else? My car looks sweet and like i said I know it can out handle a lancer NOT an evo just a lancer! and yes it has beatin some lancers but it's not a drag/race car it's a show car but it moves pretty good for what it is and it's a blast haulin up a highway entrance/exit ramp at 65 and not gettin all squirely. But anyways just my 2 cents.

Wasn't trying to put you on the spot, Jrod.
My car was bone stock at the time. I may or may not have had a MOMO shift knob on the car at the time.
My car is on stock suspension aside from wheels/tires and a RRM single tube strut tower bar. Though the steering isn't as quick as a sportier car, she handles like a dream. I have to say though, with the Paradas it's damn near impossible (without doing something REALLY stupid) to get the rear to lose traction. Believe me, I've tried.
I've driven a Focus (obviously not as thoroughly as I've driven my own car), and I've driven a Lancer. Personally I have no regrets.

Hey no hard feelings hobiekopek. It's cool Ijust wanted to get the rest of this out in the open for the rest of the people reading this to see. I personally haven't driven the lancer so i don't know how it responds ,rides, or handles for that fact. but like you said you know about your car as anyone else knows of theirs and they know the limitations of that car. But just my thoughts AGAIN!
no hard feelings to anyone just a discussion on the differences between some cars and a good way to blow time. See ya guys!

My source is 2003-2004 Consumer report mid year report.
When I had just bought my 5 speed oz rally, my friend had just bought an automatic 02' ZX3 focus. Was not really a competition there. I was faster then him but we really only raced low end zero to sixty or so? Now my brother just bought a 2003 SVT focus. My lancer now has a few mods. Curious as to what will come of us racing when he decides to race me. He will definitely be remaining stock for a while he says because the focus came with a killer warranty supposably. So his 6 speed stock vs. my lightly modded lancer 5 speed.? We'll see. He picked car up last night, but he wouldn't race just yet. He thinks my lancer is probably quicker. Dunno?
