First off, I want an Evo as my next car.

Second, I ran at the track last night and was spinning through 1st, 2nd, and halfway through third gear on street tires.. The guy next to me was also in an SRT-4 and babied it off the line not spinning at all. I ran 14.3 and he ran 14.6. If I had slicks on, it would have been much better, but I hate this car for FWD... I really do. if it were anyother drivetrain, it would FLY.

Mods:
Stage1, MBC @19PSI, AGP WGA, Intake, UPP, HKS SSQ, and other crap.

 

Is 8.55 good? I ran 8.4 on my first try when stock. Now, I run 7.67 @ 91 with the same mods as you.

OK, so you spent like $35K........and I paid like 15K for my car....and spent about $500 on it for exhaust and wga.......so I feel pretty damn good about that!! ****, for another 20K...........who knows....maybe I could be AWD and run 9's!!!

 

That is a corny reply. How can you compare our cars to yours in price. EVO's have AWD, Aluminum, forged aluminum arms, aluminum hood, fenders,roof, BBS forged rims, Bilstien shocks, Brembo Brakes and Recaro seats, etc. What does a SRT-4 have? Neon body with just a engine and not too much diff then a regular Neon. Dont give me that our car is a Lancer crap. Lancers dont have any of the suspension stuff EVO's have, and all the stuff I mentioned. Yeah maybe both cars are based on a econo car but, the EVO has alot more differences than betwen the Lancer then the SRT-4 and Neon. I am not a hater of SRT-4's it just pisses me off when people compare the price of a superior car to an inferior car and say well I paid an X amount of dollars less then you etc. You pay for what you get and obvious the EVO is a vastly over all superior car then a SRT-4.

holy crap guys! do you sit at home and try to think up questions that are answered every other day?!?!?!? if he is making 320hp, there is more than stage 2 going on! just so you know. either he is lying to you about power or mods. be prepared for somthing sneeky. stage2, tbe, intake will net you maybe 290hp and 300ft/lbs of torque.

both of you go to the track and run each other. so you have the same tempt and condition.. come back and post. Just remember SRT-4 is a front will drive. With your setup you should win if tune correctly. nothing against a Neon,

 

Right, but luckily for me, drag racing is what my car does the LEAST well. It's far better at the autocrosses and road courses I attend. Running 12-flat on the stock turbo with $1000 in mods with 0 driveability issues and no sacrifices whatsoever is not something a Neon can do. This is on my stock tires with stock suspension and stock gauges...nice and simple. I can take this same setup and go whoop some serious *** at a road course with a slight change on my S-AFC so as not to be pushing it to the edge for the full 25-min session each time.

You know, I could do this exact same thing with a 25k Evo RS. In fact, I could go even faster in the 1/4-mile, because it's lighter. I didn't buy the MR so that I could beat Neons in the 1/4-mile. I got it so that I would have a daily-driven race car that could add put down 300whp with less than $1000 in mods...and another 30whp with some race gas and self tuning while putting down all 4 windows with the touch of a button with my child in his baby seat safely fastened in the back seat in the middle of a Colorado winter with no worry.

 

I saw a video of a rather unimpressive-looking CRX stomping a C5 Z06 on a dragstrip - I believe the Z06 ran rigt at 13, and the CRX was a low 12.

Given the means, you can have DSM's that run with Vipers, CRX's that rape 'Vettes, EVO's that tear up Lambo's on the track (the topgear video we've all seen), etc....

Oh, almost forgot the Lingenfelter Vette I saw that had a 0-100-0 time that beat EVERY OTHER car competing against it, including (I think) a Mcclaren F1.

I'm beginning to think that there is a connection with "how cool my car is" with "how small my ***** is"...

Lots of chicks loved my 350Z, but my EVO mostly gets compliments from supermarket boys and 15 year old girls....

But I still like the EVO more - it's just mo' better...

If people spent money on penile implants instead of mods and time wasted on here making bull**** comparisons, we'd all be the richer for it. Especially the girls that put out based on what you drive.

Please do your research before spouting this off. You are really ignorant if you think and srt-4 is just a neon with a different engine.
