my friend with the A4 had to get his transmission rebuilt (under warranty) at 30k miles. One of those "manumatic" types. He also experienced some electrical problems with windows and turn signals not working, which I THINK he found was somehow connected to the work the dealership did on his tranny.

My opinion is that it is no better than average reliability.

One of my good friends has a stage 3 A4 (his second one), and he tracks his car very frequently with almost no major problems. A buddy of his has over 50,000 miles on his stage 3, and it has been bullett proof. These guys drive the **** out of their cars. Iwould say they are very durable cars.

As for the manumatic trannies, I have no clue, the cars my buddies have are all 5-speeds.

Note: The ones I am talking about are all 1.8t models.
