usually no. Pa has lemon law, something like 60 days... You might find one that will offer a limited warranty of some sort but more likely youll find them sold "as is"

If you get a slightly used car, less than 3 years old, you might be able to get a little bit of the factory warranty.

Certified used vehicles tend to come with a warranty backed by the manufacturer. Unfortunately, these cars also tend to be more expensive than your run-of-the-mill used cars...
Toyota, Honda, even Hyundai have such programs... (as do most luxury makes...)

'68 Nova...worked for me

seriously though...a TC does sound like a good idea. my company uses XBs as work vehicles and i must say, they seem to be well built. the TC is just soooo much better looking. also, there are some nice mods out there for them. in terms of a warranty...if you get too old of a car, you might get a minimal (if any) warranty through a dealership. whereas, you could probably find a leftover '05 TC or a lease return/trade in TC that isn't very old and get the remainder of it's factory warranty. good luck w/ your hunt.

I say get a TC. They're nice cars.

Don't get anything more than 3 years old, that's just my opinion.

He doesn't need a corvette or any other fast car for that matter as his first car...

You have $15k, want 4 doors, decent speed/style. Since you're a student you would want good gas mileage and something that's reliable so you don't have to have to borrow your parents' cars when your car breaks down. I'm actually really surprised no one suggested this yet, but why not look at a 2005 Lancer Ralliart? All the speed you need for a first car and you could probably get one for $13k. Save yourself a few thousand and save it or spend it on little things you want to fixup like rims/ little bolton mods, etc.

What about a 99-00 Audi A4 quattro. Very comfortable. All wheel drive. 1.8t has some fun mods if you decide to go that route. But even without mods it is a very classy, safe, and comfortable car. Looking at around $10,000. Audi's certified used cars are usually well backed too.
