If they price the X too high I will just opt for the new Audi S4. Although I haven't seen any pictures of the new S4 I have seen some images of what the new A4 might look like and they look pretty wicked. It the new S4 is based off that then it would be hard to folk over that kind of money for any Mitsubishi.

Yeah, the 3.2 starts at $35k, the 2.0 starts at $28K. the S4 starts at the mid to high forties. If I recall it said the new model will be a 2008.
For me it really comes down to how much the new X is gonna come in at. I'm not gonna pay S4 money for an EVO. Now if they can get it close to where the current model is, then sign me up.

2007 release date?

 

New cars? Yeah, there's not much. 350Z's are disappointing to say the least. RX8's are downright pathetic. Maybe a C6 Corvette if you get a STEAL at the dealer. According to Top Gear, it's almost as fast as a Euro-Spec MR around their track by a fraction of a second.

S2000's are very fun cars though. Apples and oranges compared to the Evo.

Used is another thing: used 300ZXTT's, RX7's (provided it's been well maintained and you have extra dough if it breaks), Supra's, NSX's, Z06's, can all be had well under 40k.

 

Z06 gets far better gas mileage (I got 32MPG on the Jersey turnpike driving it up from Maryland!) and, at least for me, is a lot cheaper to insure than an Evo. I'm 23 and pay $80/month for mine. Lady factor is a lot higher as well.

And overrated? Hmm.
