I went to a dealership and test drove it. Let me tell you I was very dissapointed.
This car does not seem very agile or have ***** i wouold spend the extra $ and buy an evo.

 

I could have told you that. But it is still much better then the previous 3g's. A heavy fwd car will never perform well.

 

Don't agree with you on the 4G being better than the 3G by looks, but looks are always subjective. They perform better but since they are both FWD, it kills this generation of the Eclipse as well. Unless they release the lovely RalliArt Eclipse.

 

Why are u comparing it to an Evo. An evo is a high performance car. The eclipse is suppose to give high performance but also luxurious ordeals. The car is ok but obviously the Evo is a rally-bred track car.

The new eclipse is for luxury and some sport-like feeling. The 263 hp mivec v-6 is sporty and fun but nuttin compared to the performance of an Evo.

 

an Eclipse is a car for people who think it's sporty and don't know any better.

 

I didn't like the test drive of the Eclipse either. Another annoying thing was the way the sun reflects on the gauge cluster, I could barely read it.

But then again I jumped ship and got an Impreza over the Ralliart and Eclipse.

 

Not everybody is in the market for an Evo. It's a totally different car and price bracket.

 

When it all comes down to it though, you would still only get this generation Eclipse for visuals, although the 263 horses is a nice bonus.

 

With such a very weak review, Im glad your dissappointed.

What did you expect? It's not a 2L turbocharged 4G63, matted to an AWD system with 4 doors. Not everybody is looking for "evo" peformance, and in it's class the new eclipse pretty much outshines the competition. It's a huge step in the right direction from the 3g. The evo is a car enthusiast vehicle, not your run of the mill going from point A - point B civic.
... and since you don't any better, you shouldn't open your mouth and speak of things you have no idea about.

 

What did you buy an eclipse. Why do I have no idea? I think that the eclipse is not a very good car. Mitsu just doesn't build very high quality cars these days. If some one wanted a serious performance car, the eclipse doesn't fit the bill. Sorry I offended you so greatly, I didn't know your mom bought one.

 

What! I can't understand how people say Mitsu don't build high quality cars. I just bought my 06' EVO 9 Mr this past Thursday and I love it. While I was waiting at the dealership I walked over to the new Eclipse because I was curious. My salesman actually walked up and asked if I was interested in the Eclipse instead of the EVO. I quickly said no and that I was just looking. Anyway, the Eclipse is nice. I could'nt find any evidence of poor quality in the Eclipse. It's a good looking car with a nice interior and a V-6 that puts out decent power.
All the people that say Mitsu cars are poor quality are trippin'. I'll put the interior of my new MR against any STi interior. I owned a 04' STi and trust me, the STi interior is full of different creaks and rattles. IMHO, I think the quality of my Mitsu is far better than that of my Subaru.
