EVO's have 40" of headroom stock.....the most of any sporty car there is. I don't think the sunroof would take 3.3" of headroom.....that would be unprecedented I would think.

ummmmm....yeah, it's a 2 seater sports car......it's kinda meant to be that way.....that's why I bought it.

I'm 6'7"......headroom matters a lot. With only 36" of headroom even someone 6'2" would probably be a squeeze.....and you can forget about wearing a helmet in that car unless you're a midget.

Those IS350s are nice and I almost bought one myself. But I got a good deal on a 2006 Charger R/T instead. I wonder how the two compare.

Hey Gaijin, wanna race me? Or maybe we can do a dyno-shootout at Mynes. lol

exactly.....and I should be able to drive a large car like the IS350....instead they make them for midgets which is retarded.

no offense but im glad they dont go out of their way to make cars larger just because there happens to be some super tall people out there.. these sports cars are based on the average sized man worldwide. Im 5'11 and taller then most people i come in contact with every day, and taller then most all the asians i have ever met. Less head room = lower center of gravity = better handling.... if head room is an issue there is always a hummer.

Man the IX is and was very very tempting. I love the EVO and would have bought another one, but there are just some things I'd like to have on the car that the EVO unfortunatly doesn't come with yet. A nicer interior and navigation would be a huge plus. Maybe the EVO X

damn straight!

BTW, the is350 is an ULTRA nice car. The interior is amazing, the seats are perfect. Well bolstered but if you lean back they are like a lay-z-boy. The gauges are beautiful. The Nav system is as good as it gets, similar to my wife's Prius, but maybe twice the detail and resolution. The handling is great. If I were to buy myself an "adult" car, that would be it.

Of course I still smoked it on a 3rd gear pull... until I ran out of gas and I got to ride in the IS to the gas station

You don't have to make the car taller to make more headroom....you just have to design it better

The height of the 350Z is a full 4" shorter and much lower to the ground than the IS350 yet has much more headroom.

dude. You don't need to justify the Z purchase anymore! It's a great, spacious vehicle! Now stop ruining this thread by talking about headroom, of all things!

BTW, I'm a midget myself (only 6' 185lb) so I can appreciate that most cars (especially the sporty ones) are designed for freaks like me. Honestly, I don't want a car that feels like I'm in a motorhome!

I have no need to justify the Z purchase......it's the car I drive so it's the one I'm using as reference. And since when does room inside a car become some issue that is not important.......especially in a car this big! Many many people have to take cab dimensions into account when buying a car.....believe it or not. When a mid-sized sedan has the same headroom as one of the most notoriously tiny cars on the road (Miata), that's worthy of discussion.....especially since I've heavily considered buying an IS......been to the Lexus lot already too.
