Well, what are some good options out there for $10k. I'm trying to help a cousin pick out a good car. He's all set on a Suburu 2.5 RS, but I told him there's plenty of other options. What do you guys think?

It could be something like $5k, which would leave another $5k for modding.

I like the DSM. I think they're a good option, but I'd only recommend getting one with AWD. Any other options?

 

Well, let me ask this, what are his goals with the car?(Daily driver, fast4banger?, domestic muscle?)

 

Daily driver. Something nice. Something reliable. Something fast. I was thinking perhaps a RX7 or a 300ZX, but I don't know too much about how they rate on those three somethings I mentioned.

 

RX7s are great cars, but so are Nissans(esp the TT!!!). Id let him test drive a couple and see which he likes more, then decide.

 

for anywhere between 10,000-14,000 g's you can find a used 02' or 03' wrx.

 

the WRX will be out of the price range. we can't go over $10k. WRX is nice, yes, but sadly unreachable...

 

For about 6K, you could get a loaded Crown Vic off of a grandpa who only drove it on the weekends, (< 50K miles) spend 2K on some nice chrome wheels, and 2K on a loud stereo.

 

honda civic. with 5 gs left over, your be boosting like crazy. :-)

 

LS1 f-body or LT1 f-body= money for mods. If you were to do a LT1 you could have a turbo on it for another 3-4k.
