Heh, wow. I'm kinda anti-med student in a way, I don't buy books. I'm obviously about to finish up the academic portion of my training and I've bought one condensed review book so far. Saved myself about $2k in books alone and they weren't needed at all. Med students tend to have a "if you can't learn it, buy it" mentality. The amount of notes we get alone is more than enough for me to ever memorize, much less anything else
