What to get?
Okay guys what do you think 06 C55 AMG, or 06 E55 AMG. My confusion is that I am not sure what to get for a daily driver? I like smaller cars and the C class fits that, but is it looked at as a starter Mercedes? Also both are no slouches in the performance realm either C has 362 hp motor. The E is larger, but has the 469hp SC motor that has over 500 footpounds bone stock. Your thoughts on what I should get? Thanks.
OKAY GUYS I GOT THE E55 AND MAN WHAT A GREAT RIDE! THANKS FOR THE HELP! She is so comfortable on long trips and has enough power to get side ways from a dead stop and the traction control turned off. On the level II sport setting, the suspension hunkers down and looks like an Evo on coilovers. The brakes are fantastic. Overall, thumbs up and yes she is my daily driver. While my Switzer built Evo VIII is faster, the E seems to be what I need for a daily driver. Thanks again for all of your input.

the E-55 is WAY faster...it has the supercharger on it...the C doesnt. the E-55 makes 469hp...the C makes 362hp. Your choice, im not sure if this needed clarification, but if it were me and i had the money to spend i would definitely go with the E-55. or the new M5. just my .02.
good luck on the choice.
the C55 is HARDLY considered an entry level car.
that said i wouldn't buy an AMG car at the moment. merc is switching over to a 6.3 n/a engine thats incredible...510hp/465tq. im wondering what else they have up their sleeve and what cars these are going into. this also opens up what to do with the 65 line. i'd say go used market if you must buy now, other wise wait a year or so and see how they restructure the amg cars.

Good points! I may have to wait, but then that throws in the new V8 powered M3. Oh, I was not saying that the C55 was looked at as an entry level car, but rather I was curious in the realm of Mercedes what would most think?
