Back on topic- Anyways sorry but I am not impressed with the SRT-4, never have and never will. Why did it take so long to hit 10s, don't give me this FWD crap, a freaking RSX Type S hit 10s before the SRT-4. FWD Eclipses and Civic/CRXs have been doing it for years. Even FWD Grand Prixs have hit 10s. Honestly the reason why 10s have been so hard to achieve with the SRT-4 is because I just don't see the engine making the power to run 10s confidently in a FWD platform. Where are the 650WHP street driven SRT-4s? Every body talks about potential of these cars, and honestly I just don't see it.

Go troll somewhere else. and the major difference between honda's, especially civics and crx, is the simple fact that they way about 300-800lbs lighter and if your gonna try to argue about that. Then you can just save your strength and not post, because there's no way around it. Weight is a major ordeal and your trying to compare apples to watermelons. Neons are light for there size( around 2900) but a eg civic hatch can be close to 2000. A coupe is usually around 2600-2700 and the rsx is around that same weight.

The SRT-4 is a bad **** and that motor is stout as hell from the factory. The reason why stupid fast ones are hard to come by is because they lack after market ems's that plug and play like our AEM.

 

srt4's are sweet! if i had to get a car around 20 i'd get an srt4....i had the option of getting a car around 30k so i got the evo!

 

this is just like any other old front wheel drive waste of time! You can make it fast on the track but its a waste in everyday driving when it comes to handling and trying to get that power to hook up unless you want ridiculous sized tires on it. Have fun with your 60mph punches

 

You guys have to understand most srt4's are tuned by SAFC's..
Their ecu's can't be flashed, there are no plug n play stand alones.

What's the fastest evo tuned on safc?

 

Last I checked a couple of seconds in racing equals a lifetime.

 

Funny how threads like these tend to sort out the fan boys from the car enthusiasts. Entertaining. It's also funny how the most vocal critics about the srt here have the least knowledge of it.

thats just awesome!. i tell u what, for a 20k car and only been around for 3 years, thats a great accomplishment. used to own one so nothing but love for it. it was a great car and wish i could afford to own both the srt and my evo.

Thank you for your knowledgeable comment...AEM EM has just came out for the SRT-4 so lets see how many we get into the 10's now....yeah the Ams evo is a bad mother no one is saying it isnt...lol we bearly broke the 10s and you are already comparing it to runing 9's now....yeah the FWD has its disadvantages but u must face the facts for a 20k car to be able to hit the 10's so cheaply is an accomplishment in itself!....Also remember this motor has only been around for 3 years compared to the decade or so the 4g63 has been around....

For what the SRT-4 is I am happy and happy i bought one....eventhough many of you may think its just a neon with a turbo!

 

It's very impressive. People aren't mentioning is a stage 3 car! Parts Dodge sells!!! That's so cool. Even if it had nitrous, so what. It's a very cool car in my opinion.

 

i would rather have a modded srt4 than evo...i didnt know dodge sells the parts, that means they all still have their warranties...the cost that i'm gonna pay over 2 or 3 years owning my evo will be double the cost of crazy sticky tires or slicks lol

 

Well STG 3 isnt warrentied and some people have said they have had problems with mods at dodge...i have yet to have a problem....my mods are minimal tho...just basic boltons....Granted the SRT is cheap to mod but thats why it was made...Cheap speed!
