STG 3 SRT4 finally goes 10's, vids inside
i had an srt4 since 2003...
I had the dealer replace, 2 clutches, 1 transmission, and a whole turbo assembly.
Lets see an mitsu dealer think about doing that with an evo...

Seriously before people and moderators jump on me, take a look at this guys negative past and how un-beneficial he has been to this site.
Back on topic- Anyways sorry but I am not impressed with the SRT-4, never have and never will. Why did it take so long to hit 10s, don't give me this FWD crap, a freaking RSX Type S hit 10s before the SRT-4. FWD Eclipses and Civic/CRXs have been doing it for years. Even FWD Grand Prixs have hit 10s. Honestly the reason why 10s have been so hard to achieve with the SRT-4 is because I just don't see the engine making the power to run 10s confidently in a FWD platform. Where are the 650WHP street driven SRT-4s? Every body talks about potential of these cars, and honestly I just don't see it.
Back on Jasil, everytime you type you give me more material to back up my claim of your trollness. Seriously we are discussing F*CKIN drag strip racing, going in a freakin' straight line. What the hell does your comment have to do with this discussion, other once again pouring negativity about the EVO into the mix of another discussion. Straight line/drag strip get on topic ********!!! Since you brought up AMS, AMS runs 9s, name a SRT-4 that runs that.

AMS owns an SRT-4 as well as an EVO, and with the power they are making with it they will probably have the fastest EVO AND the fastest SRT-4 next race season. We know it doesn't quite compare with the EVO, but it's still a hell of a car for the price.
Are we forgetting the saying here? The SRT4 is a pretty good car. The car has a PT cruiser GT turbo motor in it, and it does fine with horsepower. Yeah its frontwheel drive, but It did do tens, and tens are fast. Its not the car we should hate, its the couple of arrogant "kids" that drive them. It spoils it for the rest of them. Cheers SRT4 crew
congrats to the srt-4 for running 10's, if i couldnt afford a evo thats what i would own... and go on srtforums.com they do nothing but praise the evo
when evos break into new marks these are some of the things they say...

Good ole 3000ways,
You and I have never gotten along very well ever since we would argue about Chris's car. The EVO is a great car it's versatile and a very capable all around performer. When a owner improves upon that base the EVO really comes alive and performs really well in all 3 major types of racing autox, roadrace, and drag. We always argue when it goes past that.
Our other arguments always revolve around domestic vehicles and especially corvettes and mustangs. Or more specifically Z06's and 03/04 cobras. Pump gas vs Race gas and drivability vs all out power.
I'm glad you bought a EVO it's a fun car just don't be like many and think it's a C5 Z06 and Cobra killer in the drag department.
You're neon comment? EVO's destroy Neons in the drag dept. no doubt about it. In the handling dept. it's alot closer than people want to think. When Onelap was going on last year all people could do was post endlessly about AMS car and how great it was doing....but the blinders were on too. The neon was right there with under 15K in it and a Z06 was putting 15 second better lap times in a NA configuration. All people could post was how great the EVO was doing with 30K in it.
It was the same with Chris's EVO it beat Allen's car not taking anything away from Chris's car, but when a EVO + 20K it running race gas beats a 03/04 cobra with 5k in it running pump gas by 2 car lengths to 130mph I'm more impressed with the Cobra. John runs 10.0's@140mph in a Cobra like Allens' on pump race mix all for 5K in it! Same goes for the new numbers 900awhp+, but no A/C and 44psi. Awesome numbers!! If your going to take it that far and spend that much money 30K there are better platforms and that's where our arguments always end up. Good luck with the EVO have fun!!
I'm not being negative I'm being real. I like my EVO and it fits my children.

The SRT-4 is a great car for cheap speed. They pretty fast and they hold their own.
But anyone who thinks that a SRT-4 is even close to an EVO better think about this on thing........
The EVO has so many acomplishments (race wins, rally wins, driver championships, etc.) and the SRT-4 is NEVER gonna be that good.

probably not, due it being wrong wheel drive
Evo's are great, and they have accomplished many many things... but hmmmm how long has the evo been out again
Bang for the buck as far as purchasing a brand new car, the SRT is a great car- PERIOD. If all you can afford is 20k on a new car then the SRT is worth every penny, especially if you plan on going in a straight line. Now, plz nobody jump on me for saying this and think Im "being negative about owning an EVO", but in everyday driving if you had a SRT-4 running low 12's and ur Evo will say runs 12.0 or even a high 11, from a roll an SRT most likely has you. They trap at higher speeds compare to EVO's running the same time. Im sure most of you knew this already, but before some of us bash the SRT we should think of how great of a value these cars are and give them the credit they deserve for a 20k car.
Now from a dead stop if the same two cars were going to run then OF COURSE THE EVO will win. Duh. But how often does this really happen???
Another comment I saw on this thread that I think is a little hypiocritical is someone saying its just a "neon"....I'm sure if you talk to some other ppl they would say that our car's are just LANCERS- but of course we would say its an Evo....Same goes for the neon owners. Talk to them and they'll say its an SRT-4. So give the car some credit.
To wrap this up, I would never give up my car for an SRT, lets get that clear, because I love what my car can do- it can go straight, autocross, rally.... the evo can lead you to so many different paths, where as the SRT is a little bit more limited, but if you have the money you can do w/e you want to a car. Me personally, I'm building my car for drag racing and also races from rolls. This why Im purchasing a 35r or 37r because I know that 95% of the races I have, unless Im at the track, will be from a roll and I want the top end power that way neons aren't passing me on the express way with their stage 3 kits...Will see Im bringin my car to AMS shortly, Ill keep you guys posted if ur curious about this build.

when it comes to rally racing, the srt's are holding their own in their respective classes. the onelap car did outstanding last year. there are several cars breaking into the 10s here shortly. the ACR's are doing well in their class autoxing. plus we can get 30 miles per gallon. seems to me, to be a decent car for $10,000+ less than the evo
I agree, for 10,000 less its a great buy....if you have 20k to spend on a new car. If your able to spend more then I would say for 30k the Evo is probably the best buy. And I'm not looking at it as if someone planned on modifying the car, but someone who wants to enjoy the car in its stock form.
i couldnt agree more...if the evo was available when the srt was, i would have one in my driveway. however, since the srt was out nearly 8 months before, i am stuck with what i got. but im not complaining, i love my car...and its paid off!!!!!!!!!!
